We are delighted with parish response to the fourth season of RENEW, and we are grateful for your leadership and for all you have done in bringing it to your parishioners. Approximately 20,000 adults have participated, and we continue to hear enthusiastic comments about the program. We want to tell you about Season V of RENEW 2000. The United States Catholic Bishops have been emphasizing the social teaching of the Church because of the essential role social justice has in our faith tradition. For the fifth season of RENEW the Religious Education Department, in cooperation with the Archdiocesan Human Rights Office, is preparing a special study and faith sharing guide that will focus on the social teaching of the Catholic Church. This booklet will be used in fall 2001 in our parishes. |

Jesus came and took bread and gave it to them .(John 21:13) Jesus ultimate gift of the Eucharist is a sacrament of love. It is the gift of life that fills us to overflowing and satisfies all our needs and hungers. The Eucharist is a sign of unity and a bond of charity.
