KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
COUNCIL 1088
Have you noticed the new cassocks and surplices being worn
by the youth of our serving elect? Hats off and thanks to the donation made by the Knights
that help cover the cost. The young people have shown a greater interest in serving since
we have gone back to the original attire.
Christmas, 2006
TO THE FAITHFUL OF THE ARCHDIOCESE OF ST. LOUIS
ON THE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS COLLECTION FOR KENRICK-GLENNON SEMINARY
Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
My warmest greetings and prayerful wishes for a blessed Christmas
to you and your family. On Christmas Day, we greet the Redeemer who came to us as a child
in the humble stable at Bethlehem. This Child is the promise of God, He is the One who
comes in peace, the one who lights the world, and gives us sure hope.
I write briefly about another gift we have received through Christ
our seminarians. Each of their lives and their response to the call to the
priesthood of Jesus Christ is a great gift to us. They are part of Gods promise
which took flesh two thousand years ago in Bethlehem in the person of Jesus Christ.
For generations, each year at Christmas, the people of the
Archdiocese have made a special gift to support our seminarians at Kenrick-Glennon
Seminary as a natural expression of their Catholic faith. Please be generous in responding
to the Christmas Day collection for the support of our seminarians. Also, I ask you to
pray for them and for our priests. They are truly Christ with us. They are a sign to us of
a future full of hope.
Asking Gods blessing upon you and your homes, I remain
