A big THANK YOU to everyone who participated and
donated for our Christmas Party. We had a great turnout, and a good time was enjoyed by
all. Also a gracious thank you to Santa who took time out of his busy schedule to come
visit us. Congratulations to Opal Sickman, our winner of the Christmas Quilt.
Knights of Columbus
The next monthly Fish Fry will be held on January 16,
2009. The weekly Lenten Fish Fry will begin on February 27, 2009.
There will not be Chicken and Dumplings in January 2009. Our next
Chicken and Dumpling dinner will be held on February 5, 2009. Thank you, and we hope to
see you there.
Marriage Encounter Weekend
During Advent, reflect on whether you are keeping
Christ in your marriage. If not, consider attending a Marriage Encounter Weekend to renew
your closeness with God and your spouse. Five Weekends will be held in St. Louis next year
and you can register for one by calling 314-469-7317, or visiting the website at www.stl-wwme.org
Annual Sleigh Raffle
St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School is holding the
Annual Sleigh Raffle. This year there are two sleighs. A smaller gift card sleigh was
added in addition to our large traditional item/toy sleigh. Two winners will be drawn; the
first name drawn will receive their choice of sleigh. The second winner will receive the
remaining sleigh.
The tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. The winner of the gift card
sleigh will win the sleigh and all of its contents. The winner of the item/toy sleigh will
win the contents only of the large sleigh. Winners will be drawn on 12/15/2008.
You need not be present to win. The Parents Home and School
Association thank you for your support!
Our Lady Sodality
We would like to thank all who helped make out bake
sale and raffle a success. Tickets are still available at the office or from any sodality
member. Remember the grocery cart is valued at over $450 as some extra donations have come
in. A turkey will also be included in the cart.
Drawing will be at out Christmas party. The winner will be
notified that evening.
Our Christmas Party is Thursday, December 16 at noon at
Mario’s. Don’t forget your $5 gift if
you care to exchange gifts. Also, remember the items that you are
to bring for the shut-ins.
Vincentian Marian Youth
The next Vincentian Marian Youth Encounter is scheduled
for December 14 at the Shrine Church in Perryville, Missouri. The Faith Alive will start
at 6 p.m. with an Advent theme.
Mass featuring contemporary Christian music following at 6:10 p.m.
with Father Joe Williams
as the main celebrant. We will end the evening with food, fun,
sharing, and laughter in the visitor’s center. This VMY event is geared for teens and
young adults but all ages are welcome to come! Hope to see you there!
March for Life
Prolife Trip
Vincentian Marian Youth Sponsored Event Prolife Trip:
The National March for Life- Washington, DC, trip is scheduled from Tuesday evening
January 20 to Sunday evening, January 25. Fliers and registration forms are available from
the VMY office at 573-547-3300, at their website, which is www.vmy.us or call Cathy at 573-517-2212. Sign ups are due by
December 20.
The cost will be $200. This is an awesome event!
