Kleinsorge BINGO FIGURES FOR NOV.20,2001 This Sunday, we celebrate the First Sunday of Advent. To understand the Advent season we have to realize that it refers to three comings of Christ. There are, of course, references to the historic coming of Christ on earth two thousand years ago. Advent is also a preparation for the spiritual coming of Christ to us this year at Christmas, and there are references to the second coming of Christ at the end of the world. Some of the persons we come face -to-face with in the Advent readings are John the Baptist, Isaiah the Prophet, and Mary the mother of Jesus. Let us make our Advent season a time of calm and prayer and let us try not to celebrate Christmas until Christmas day. Saturday, December 8, is the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, a
holy day of obligation. Masses at St. Joseph will be at 8:00a.m.and 4:00p.m on December 8.
Mass at St. Anne Parish will be at 9:15 a.m. on December 8. The regular second Sunday of
Advent liturgy will be celebrated on Sunday, December 9. |
ST. ANNE PARISH You and your family are invited to our annual Christmas party that will be held Sunday, December 9th at 1:00p.m. We will have a program of Christmas carols and poetry. This year as always we will have the young people of our Parish participating. A social will follow the program. Details will be announced after Mass today. Church cleaners for the month of December is Janet Mecey. St. Anne is a beautiful Church and we are all proud of it. The Church belongs to everyone in the Parish. To keep our Church in tip-top condition we need volunteers to clean. We have a couple of months that remain open for the coming year. A sign up sheet is provided in the back of Church. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Saturday, December 15: 12:00 4:00p.m. ADORATION OF THE One form of prayer that pleases Jesus very much is just to be still and simply let Jesus love you in the Blessed Sacrament. Just as you cant be exposed to the sun without receiving its rays, so too, you cant come before the Blessed Sacrament without receiving the divine rays of the grace and love of the Son of God. All are invited to take part in the Eucharistic Adoration that takes place Friday, December 7th. from 8:30a.m. until 5:00p.m. Benediction at 5:00p.m. Since 1893 Kenrick-Glennon Seminary has formed the men who will serve as priests in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Some Kenrick graduates have become bishops, some missionaries, and others theologians. Most have served as parish priests and have spent their lives for our Catholic community. To ensure the best formation of good parish priests who will serve in the future, please be generous when giving to the Christmas Collection for the Seminary. EARLY CHRISTMAS GIFT Give yourself and Respect Life an early Christmas present. Inserted in the bulletin is an important pamphlet. The columns circled are a simple way to help the Respect Life cause.
