Giving Tree Ornaments
The giving tree ornaments are now available on our Christmas tree.
Your wonderful generosity gives a child in need a special Christmas. Please remember that
these children do not receive a Christmas gift if you choose an ornament and do not bring
back a gift to put under the tree. Bring your wrapped presents (with the giving tree tag
attached) no later than December 18th. Thank you for giving these children a Merry
Christmas.

Faith For the Future
We are fortunate. In the fall of 2008, Kenrick-Glennon Seminary
had its largest enrollment in the past 20 years. Our prayers for vocations are being
answered and God has given us a seminary that is nearly filled to capacity. As good
stewards of His gifts, we can provide an appropriate facility and the necessary resources
for our seminarians education and formation.
There are blank enrollment cards in the pews this weekend if you
have not had an opportunity to pledge. Please drop them in the collection basket or return
them to the Parish office. Thank you for your generosity.
Eucharistic Adoration
My Lord Jesus Christ, it is Your great love for us that keeps
You day and night present in the Blessed Sacrament, full of compassion and love, waiting
for us to visit You. I believe that You are really present in the Sacrament of the Altar.
From the depth of my heart, I adore You and I thank You for the many graces You have given
me, especially for the gift of Yourself in this Sacrament, for the gift of Your most holy
Mother as my Mother and for the privilege of visiting You in this church at this time.
The celebration of the Eucharistic Adoration will begin at 8:30
a.m. on Friday, December 4th, and conclude with the Benediction at 5:00 p.m. Please sign
up for your time to be spent with the Lord.
Christmas Schedule
You will receive a copy of the Christmas schedule via a special
mailing on or before December 1st.
The Season of Advent
Advent is the season in which we prepare for the great celebration
of Jesus birth at Christmas. We use the Advent wreath to mark this time leading up
to Christmas. The wreath a circle of evergreen symbolizing Gods eternal love
holds four candles. As we light the four candles, one by one, we are reminded of
how Gods light has gradually illumined the worlds darkness through history,
culminating in Jesus, the Light of the World.
