TODAY’S READING
In today's gospel reading, Jesus speaks of two events at the same time. The destruction of the temple and the end of time. The first was to be a time for fleeing; there can be no flight from the second. The first would come soon. Jesus refrains from predicting the time of the second. Perhaps Jesus was on the slopes of the Mount of Olives, looking down on the temple. How could they imagine the destruction of all this? The second event, the end of the world is also beyond all imagination. For most of us, the end will come with personal death. It does us well to meditate on what the catechism calls "The Four Last Things: death, judgment, heaven and hell.Catholic Campaign

The scheduled drawing for the raffle is set for Sunday, June 23, 2002. PLEASE NOTEThe rectory office will be closed on Friday, November 23, for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The office will reopen on Monday, November 26.
