On Tuesday, November 13, St. Joseph will celebrate an annual Mass honoring all ex-service men and women. All present and former members of the branches of service are invited and urged to attend. Mass will be at 8:00a.m. and a special blessing will be extended to all who attend. A flag raising ceremony will be held at the school with our Knights of Columbus Honor Guard. At the Masses next weekend, we will be asked to join in solidarity with the poor through the annual collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. For more than thirty years, CCHD has helped the Church to be a helping hand to poor and low-income people in our diocese and throughout the country. CCHD grants have supported self-help projects to provide affordable housing, create jobs, promote living wages, and improve communities. Help Americas 32 million poor break the cycle of poverty, not just for a day, but for a lifetime, by giving generously next weekend. PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SICK As you say your daily prayers this week, please remember to pray for the elderly, the homebound, our parishioners in nursing homes, our men and women in the military, our President and our Government Leaders, peace throughout the world, and all the innocent people that have been affected by the attacks on America. This years convocation is in the form of a Hymn festival under the direction of Christopher Walker, internationally known composer and conductor. Among the music makers that evening will be the archdiocesan Choir, Handbells and Cathedral Brass Quintet. You are invited to join us for a night of wonderful music and prayer!
