You recall, brother and sisters, our
toil and drudgery. Working night and day in
order not to burden any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.
(1 Thessalonians 2:9)
St. Pauls message to the
Thessalonians reminds us how much time and talent the saints of the early Church gave to
spread the Gospel message. Our own Catholic
ancestors also gave generously to build up the Church.
Now it is our turn to give generously so that the Church can remain strong
in the 3rd. Millennium.

ST. ANNE CHURCH,
FRENCH VILLAGE, MO.
The Annual Bonfire was enjoyed by all who attended. Thanks to all
who contributed in getting it together. An appreciation goes to whoever removed the old
Church sign.
If for any reason you have felt the need to use the Glory and Praise
hymnals other than at Church please return them. It seems for some reason that over the
past three weeks we have been short at least two or three every week. Your help is
appreciated.
My Dear Friends:
One of the expenses that we encounter
in the parish is postage due on letters that are sent to the parishioners. The dollar value is insignificant, but the time
and frustration of dealing with this matter is enormous.
In the future if and when you move, change address or telephone number,
please, be so kind as to let the office know.
Yours in Christ,
Father John

October 18, 2005
Dear Parishioners:
As you know, weeks ago I made an
announcement from the pulpit that the school was continuing to experience financial
difficulties. Last night a meeting was held
to begin discussion on future operation of the school.
Sister Margaret McCulloch and Al Winkelmann from the Catholic Education
Office, Deacon Don, Mrs. Finley, Ms. Monahan, Mrs. Ferraro, representatives from the
Parish Council and Board of Education, several parishioners, and myself were in
attendance.
Data and demographics were
distributed for review concerning the last five years of the schools operation. A proposal for the reconstructing of the school
was suggested in order to more efficiently and effectively make use of instructional
dollars without sacrificing the quality of the current academic and Catholic educational
program. We simply cannot continue to
financially operate the school under the current arrangement. The group will meet again in November for a more
in-depth study concerning all aspects of the reconstructing
proposal.
I ask for two things: (1) Do not make
any assumptions. It is my intention to keep
you fully informed of these meetings and their outcome.
Please know that we, as a parish community, are doing our best to keep our
school doors open for continued Catholic education and are working diligently toward a
plan that will allow us to do so, and (2) your on-going support of the school and your
prayers. When it comes time for a decision,
it will be made in the best interest of all concerned.
In His service,
Father John Schneider,
Pastor
