Dear Parishioners :
I am pleased to announce that two individuals from both of our
parishes are the recipients of the first annual Archbishop Rigali Service Award.
Out of many that were nominated throughout the Archdiocese Mr.
John Groboski of St. Joseph and Mr. Victor Bender Jr. of St. Anne received this
prestigious award for their unselfish dedication and service to their parish.
Congratulations to all of you who give of yourself so generously
and especially these men who have been honored this year.
Respectfully in Christ,
Father John

The Daughters of Isabella would like to invite the ladies of St.
Anne and St. Joseph Parish to come and recite the rosary on Wednesday, October 23rd. at
7:00p.m. The doors of St. Joseph will open at 6:30p.m.
October is known as "The Rosary for Women Month". The
next community rosary will be said on Wednesday, October 30th after the
"We Believe" class following morning Mass.
We Believe in God, THE FATHER
The Creed begins with God the Father. God is the origin of all
that is and has authority over all He loves and cares for his children. The Church tells
us that the prayer we call the "Our Father" reveals the Father to us while at
the same time revealing us to ourselves. |

PRAY THAT THEY WILL HAVE LIFE-2002, 26TH annual Archdiocesan
Pro-Life Convention will take place next Sunday, October 27th at the Millennium
Hotel. You wont want to miss Frances Hogan, co-founder of Women Affirming Life,
keynote speaker and KTRSs Dan Buck emcee for the general session. Call the Pro-Life
Office at 314-792-7555 to make luncheon reservations.
The year 2002 marks a great spiritual milestone and offers an
important civic challenge. The new millennium requires a new kind of politics, focused
more on moral principles than on the latest polls; more on the needs of the poor and
vulnerable than the contributions of the rich and powerful; more on the pursuit of the
common good than the demands of special interests. This is a time to bring together the
guidance of the Gospel and the opportunities of our democracy to shape a society more
respectful of human life and dignity, and more committed to justice and peace.
We hope the campaigns and elections of the year 2002 become
turning points in our democracy, leading to more participation and less cynicism,
more civil dialogue on fundamental issues and less partisan
posturing and attack ads.
As members of the Catholic community, we enter the public form to
act on our moral convictions, share our experience in serving the poor and vulnerable, and
add our values to the dialogue over our nations future. Our moral framework does not
fit the categories of right or left, Democrat or Republican. Our responsibility is to
measure every party and platform by how its agenda touches human life and dignity. In the
Catholic tradition, responsible citizenship is a virtue; participation in the political
process is a moral obligation.
PLEASE TAKE NOTE: The St. Joseph
Prayer Group, TOGETHER IN HIS NAME" will meet the third Monday of the month in
the Church. The first prayer meeting will be October 21st at 7:00p.m. The
Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for Holy Hour from 6:00p.m. til 7:00p.m.. All are
welcome!
