coats too. There will be boxes located at the entrance of church for all donated coats,
please go through your winter coats and see what you can give this season. The sign up

Holy Land
Father John will be visiting the Holy Land as part of his 40th
anniversary celebration. You are invited to join him. We will leave on April 2, 2008 and
return on April 13, 2008. We will visit the sites that the Bible speaks of on Holy Week.
The cost is $3,600 per person, it is more than usual but there is a $500 surtax and
everything is more expensive. If you are interested please come to our meeting on October
12th at noon in the church basement. We need to twenty people to make this pilgrimage
possible.
Festival Chairmen
Father John is requesting your presents to discuss the past and
future festival information. The meeting will be on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 6:00pm
for all festival booth chairmen. This meeting is very important, if you can not personally
attend please send a substitute in your place concerning your booth.
Guest Choir
Today at the Ten Oclock Mass we have with us a guest choir,
their name is Tapestry and they will perform several selections during mass today.
Liturgical Changes
I recently received a communication from the chancery concerning the bishops changes
to our liturgical wording. In the next few weeks I will publish the suggested changes one
at a time. Well ease into this as gently as possible. It is what is being asked of
us and as your pastor I encourage you to comply.
Number 3:
At the Consecration, the priest will refer to Christs blood which is poured
out for you and for manyan accurate translation of pro multis- rather than
for all in the current translation.
World Mission Sunday
Next Sunday, Pope Benedict XVI calls every Catholic in the world to celebrate our vocation
to be missionary. Its World Mission Sunday! As Catholics around the world- here at
home and in the Missions- gather at the Eucharist around the table of the Lord, we are
asked to pray for those who still have not yet heard or responded to the Good News of Our
Lords great love for us, and for Missionaries who proclaim this message. We are
asking to offer out financial help in the special collection on World Mission Sunday. This
collection enables The Society for the Propagation of the Faith to support Missionaries in
more than 1,150 dioceses in Asia, Africa, the Pacific Island and the remote regions of
Latin America.
A gift of $25 would be a months support for a young woman preparing to serve as a
Religious Sister in Mail.
A gift of $50 helps a local Religious Community of Sisters in Thailand to care for girls
in need.
Just $20 helps towards the purchase of a bicycle for a catechist in Kenya.
Your generosity in the collection for World Mission Sunday will help make a faith-filled
difference around the world!
Knights of Columbus Fish Fry
Dont forget the Knights of Columbus are having their monthly
fish fry on Friday, October 15, 2008. Make sure and mark your calendars so you dont
miss out on a fabulous dinner!
