"Your wealth has rotted
away, your clothes have become moth-eaten your gold and silver have corroded (James 4:2)
St. James reminds us that the material possessions we treasure on
the earth are really worthless. This same reminder is found in the modern saying,
"When we die we leave behind all that we have and take with us all that we are."
The reality is that the only thing you will be able to take with you into the next life is
the
difference you have made in this life-the difference you have made in others and the
difference you have made in your own life through your good stewardship of Gods many
gifts.
On the weekend
of October 4th and 5th there will be a special collection to support
the training of deacons for service to our parishes and our community. Please use the
special envelope found in your parish envelope packet. The members of the Diaconate
Community thank you for your generous support.
