Special Collection
There will be a special collection on Sunday, September 14, 2008
for the Festival Food Drive. The envelopes for
this special collection were mailed to you. These donations are tax deductable as
long as you write in your envelope number. As you know the cost of our annual Festival
Dinner is quite expensive and all financial donations are greatly appreciated.
Golf Tournament
St. James Catholic Church, 210 N. Missouri St. Potosi, MO. Will be
hosting their annual Golf Tournament on September 26, 2008 at the beautiful Fourche Valley
Golf Course west of Potosi on Hwy 8. There will be 3-person teams. Food will be served all
day. Winners will be in flights. If you can not golf and want to help them you may sponsor
a hole. Please contact the rectory at toll free 1-888-686-8188 if you are interested. They
hope to see you there.

Golf Tournament
St. Joseph 16th Annual Golf Tournament
Financial Statement
Revenues: $14,948.00
Expenses: -6,583.50
Profit: $ 8,364.50
The annual golf tournament was once again a rousing success thanks
to Dude Pratte and Butch Miles. The day was shorten by rain but it didnt dampen the
spirits of the golfers or diners. On the hole we had fun and we were home early. The
school children and their parents benefited from your generous response. Once again I am
proud to be your pastor, Father John.

A big thank you to our parishioners who responded to the recent
DIAPER DRIVE sponsored by Gods Lifesavers. A total of 4,328 diapers were collect.

PSR Information
PSR classes will begin Sunday, September 7 at 9:00 A.M. for grades K-8.
All students will meet in the school auditorium that first day. For more information

PSR registration has begun for all students in grades K-9.
Students wishing to register for First Reconciliation and First Communion classes must
have attended a P.S.R. or Catholic school religion class for one year prior to this year.
Confirmation classes will be offered next year. Students wanting
to be confirmed during the 2009-2010 school year must attend classes 70% of the time this
year.
Registration forms will be available at the back of church.
Complete forms and leave them at the back of church or turn them into the rectory office.

Attention Children
The time is fast approaching for the Festival "Frog Jump and
Turtle Race." If you havent found your prize frog or turtle, no is the time to
start looking. Just remember to feed and water them so they will be healthy for the event.
The time of the first event will be at 2:00 p.m. Any changes will be announces in the
bulletin prior to the event.
