Father
John and the Parish Council would like to extend their appreciation to all who worked
before, during and after the St. Anne Picnic on June 13th. We are grateful for your help and faithful
support of our picnic year after year.
What is Stewardship?
Here
are just a few recommendations:
Choose a time every day for
prayer, by yourself or perhaps in front of the Blessed Sacrament.
Find the time that seems most
sacred for you, and take that time to spend alone with God.
If possible, attend the Eucharist
more than once a week. Trust us! God is always there, waiting to hear from you and
wanting you to know of His unconditional love for you.
Seize every opportunity to show
Gods love through your random acts of kindness:
an encouraging word, a pat on the back, a helpful hand.
Be present to the people in your
life, especially your family. Offer to help. Practice saying yes.
Seek opportunities to participate
in your parish or faith community as an altar server, lector, usher or extraordinary
minister of Holy Communion.
Benefit Golf Tournament
Father
John, the staff and students of St. Joseph School extend a big thank you to the golf
teams, our sponsors, and all of you who have made this years golf tournament such an
outstanding success. We are grateful for your
generous donations of baskets for the auction. The
baskets were exceptional and they sold quickly.
We would like to give a special thank you to Dude Pratte and Butch
Miles for all of their time and the hard work that they have invested in this fundraiser
year after year.
66th Annual St.
Joseph Festival
September 19, 2010
The Only Missing Piece is You!
Please
sign up to help at our Festival. There are
some additional volunteer sign up sheets in the back of Church. All we need is your name and telephone number. You may drop it in the collection basket or drop it
off at the Parish Office.
Festival Dinner
In
order to help defray the cost of the beef and chicken for the dinner ($2,300 for the year
2009), we are trying another way to cut down these expenses and therefore have more profit
for our school. To date we have collected
approximately $1,600. If you are not able to
work or come to our Festival this year, please consider making a donation by using the
Festival Dinner envelope in your packet or you may use a butterfly envelope
and mark it Festival Dinner. Your
prayers and generosity are appreciated.
Treasure Basket Booth
Treasures
needed! Theme baskets are very popular and
sell quickly. Suggestions for the Treasure Basket Booth include personal care items
(shaving cream, shampoo, body soap), coffee, tea, snacks, kitchen gadgets, school
supplies, first aid supplies, dental care, etc. Please
check out the complete list in the Church foyer.
If
you are able to donate any of these items, please call Paula Pace at 573-358-5323 or
573-330-9416.
Country Store/Flea Market
We
are now accepting small items for our Flea Market such as CDs, DVDs, DVD
players, books, lotions, candles, tools, etc. You
may bring these items to the Church Hall or call Janie McCormick at (760) 877-7590 for
pick up.
The
folks at our Country Store would greatly appreciate your donations of homemade pies,
cookies, brownies, cupcakes and cakes. Home
canned jams, jellies, vegetables and homegrown fruits or vegetables are also very popular
items.
Please
bring these donations for the Country Store
the morning of
the
Festival or call Janie for pick up.
