PSR CLASSES will begin on Sunday, August 25 at 9:00a.m. Please bring your child/children to the School. If your child attends public school it is important that they attend these classes. Preparation is being made for First Communion and Confirmation. Materials have been ordered and will arrive soon. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Home and School Association will host a Bar-B-Que for the parents, students and faculty today, beginning at 4:00p.m. Hamburgers, hot dogs and brats will be furnished. Please bring your favorite dish and come join in the fun. This will be a great opportunity for all the parents to get to know each other.

The regular meeting of the Daughters of Isabella will be held on Monday, August 12 at 7:00p.m. Dinner will be served at 6:00p.m. The ladies will enjoy playing bingo after the meeting. Ideas for activities that will be done during the coming year will be presented to the ladies. Looks to be an exciting meeting. Please come and join us! 

Congratulations to Milton and Jeanette Lindhorst who celebrated their sixtieth wedding anniversary on June 13^th. They celebrated the happy occasion with their children in Branson, Mo.

Milton and Jeanette were married on June 13, 1942 at Nativity Parish in St. Louis. They are the proud parents of five children, and grandparents of 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

This week as we move through our daily lives, please let us remember our loved ones and friends that are in need of our prayers. Please ask God to bring peace and comfort to Harriet Gamblin on the passing of her daughter Linda O’Neal. Let us remember those who are ill and those in the hospital: Germaine Mantia, Bob Rupp, Bob Franz, Tommie Neinhaus, Diane Lee, Agens Vargo, and Kasey Jenkins. May each receive God’s blessing.

Every Sunday morning on Station KJFF (1400) at 10:05 a.m. there is a 15 minute Catholic radio program for listeners in our area. It’s called "THE FESTUS DEANERY PROGRAM " and it offers good music, a short homily, and blessings for the listeners. It is especially appropriate for SHUT-INS and others who are unable to attend Sunday Mass. It is conducted by the Redemptorists of Liguori. 

This Thursday, August 15 is the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Mother into Heaven. For your convenience masses will be at 8:00a.m. and 5:00p.m. at St. Joseph. Mass will begin at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anne. This is considered a Holy day so please make arrangements to come to mass. 

Take time to think, pray, and relax by joining with other women from the parish at the women’s retreat on October 4 – 5- 6, 2002! The retreat will be held at King’s House Retreat and Renewal Center in Belleville, Illinois. Do something for yourself and God by attending. Cardinal Ritter Institute’s Foster Grandparents program children will honor 13 employees with service awards for 5- to – 20 years of service. Cardinal Ritter Institute, a Catholic Charities agency, is one of the largest organizations in the area working to improve the quality of life for older person.

Beginning Experience Weekend – Time away from everyday life to focus on healing from the loss of a marriage through death or divorce. This weekend allows participants to gently put closure on the past and grow toward a new beginning. Sept. 27-29, 2002. Sponsored by the Office of Laity and Family Life.
