Second Collection
Today a collection will be taken up for the Latin America
Apostolate of the Archdiocese. This collection supports the five St. Louis priest
missionaries in Bolivia and Belize. Because of the great poverty in Bolivia and in Belize,
and the lack of sufficient native clergy, these St. Louis priest missionaries need our
support to serve the people of God there. In Latin America, there is one priest for 20,000
Catholics, while here in St. Louis; there is one priest for 2,000 Catholics. The goal of
our priest missionaries is to evangelize in a way that makes missionary disciples of the
Lord Jesus. This included the training of native vocations to the priesthood.
Our priest missionaries can only do what we make possible through
our prayers and donations. Thank you for your prayers and donations in the special
collection on August 3. To find out more about how your donation helps, please visit our
website at www.stlmissions.org
and click on Latin America Apostolate.
