Life Touch Photography is coming to St. Joseph August 5, 2008.
They have been making family pictures unique for 40 years. Between today and August 5th
you will be called to schedule your family picture seating. There will be a person after
next week’s masses in the back of church taking sign- ups as well.
This date was set so family members in from college can make your
picture complete.
You will get an 8x10 free picture and many other picture options,
time sitting is every 15 minutes, pets permitted. Looking forward to seeing you in out
family directory!

Please take the pamphlet in the pew and review it. Life Touch will
be contacting all members to set up appointments for our new directory. There will also be
a sign up sheet after mass on, Sunday, July 27 & August 3. Pictures will be taken
Monday, August 4, 2008 beginning at 2:30.
Our Lady Sodality
We will be having a big Tailgate Sale on Saturday October 4, 2008.
Tables will be $10.00. Inside or outside. Make your reservations now. All proceeds will go

Monday August 19, 2008 will be our next meeting. We will eat lunch
at Crossroads at noon. Please mark your calendar. After lunch we will go back to the
church and have our meeting.
St. Vincent de Paul
Due to schedules in the summer time our meeting will be held on
Friday’s. Our next meeting will be August 15, 2008 in the meeting room.
Holy Hour for Vocations
Father Edward Rice, Director of Vocations for the Archdiocese of
Saint Louis, will host a monthly Holy Hour for Vocation, beginning the First Friday of
August 2008, August 1st, at 7:30 pm, at Holy Redeemer Parish, 17 Joy Avenue, in Webster
Groves, MO.
All those interested in promotion vocations to the priesthood and
religious life, as well as those discerning a vocation, are welcome to attend.
The Holy Hour will include Exposition, a Gospel reading with
reflection, quiet time and conclude with Night Prayer and Benediction.

Annual Seminary Picnic
The Annual Seminary Picnic, sponsored by St. Vincent de Paul
Parish, Perryville, MO, will be held Friday through Sunday, August 1, 2 & 3 at the
Seminary Grove, adjoining St. Mary’s Seminary. Friday -6 to 11 p.m.; Saturday -1 to
11 p.m.; Sunday – 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Chicken and Beef Dinners ($8.00 Adults &
$4.00 Children) served BUFFET Style Saturday 3:00 p.m. til ?. Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 7:00
p.m. Handmade Quilt Bingo, Antique Carousel, Rides, Live Entertainment, plus all Picnic
Attractions.
Second Collection
On Sunday, August 3rd, a collection will be taken up for the Latin
America Apostolate of the Archdiocese. This collection supports the five St. Louis priest
missionaries in Bolivia and Belize. Because of the great poverty in Bolivia and in Belize,
and the lack of sufficient native clergy, these St. Louis priest missionaries need our
support to serve the people of God there. In Latin America, there is one priest for 20,000
Catholics, while here in St. Louis; there is one priest for 2,000 Catholics. The goal of
our priest missionaries is to evangelize in a way that makes missionary disciples if the
Lord Jesus. This included the training of native vocations to the priesthood.
Our priest missionaries can only do what we make possible through
our prayers and donations. Thank you for your prayers and donations in the special

News Release
The Office of Sacred Music of the Archdiocese of St. Louis
announces auditions for the Archdiocesan Adult, Children’s, and Handbell Choirs. The
choirs lead the sung prayers at all major Archdiocesan Liturgies. Choir Auditions are held
on July 21st -23rd, August 25th -28th at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, 4431 Lindell
Blvd. (Lindell at Newstead) St. Louis, MO.
