St. Vincent De Paul meeting has been changed to the 2nd Tuesday of July. The August
meeting will be the on the first Tuesday of the month. Please mark your calendars.

Everyone experiences rejection at some point in their
lives. It is painful especially when the people closest to us are the ones rejecting us.
Jesus also experienced rejection. Talk to Jesus about how you feel. Ask Him to show you
how you can use this experience to grow and become a more compassionate person.

Catholic Church is hosting a screening on Wednesday, July 9th. Call

or $125 for all four tests.
The "Museum," located in the Old Rectory, is open
Sundays from 11:00a.m. to 12, during the months of June, July and August. Admission is

WHY DO I HAVE TO GO TO CONFESSION TO A PRIEST? CAN’T I JUST TALK TO
GOD DIRECTLY?
The priest plays a critical role in helping us know that
God loves us and forgives us.
After his resurrection, Jesus gave the apostles the authority to
forgive sins. He said,"If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you
retain the sins of any, they are retained" (John 20:23). This apostolic authority has
been conveyed to the bishop, who is a successor to the original Twelve. When a priest is
ordained, the bishop also gives the priest the authority to forgive sins in Jesus’
name.
Don’t forget… sin is not a private affair. By its
nature, sin means we chose to reject God’s will in favor of our own. Putting our
selfish or self-centered desires above the needs of others affects our families, our
communities and the Church as a whole. The priest represents the Church and the people we
have sinned against. So he is able to confer God’s forgiveness and that of our
community as well.

Picnic, Sunday, July 20 on the parish grounds. Delicious dinners featuring Fried Chicken -
