Mission Appeal

Please welcome Father Jack Nuelle, MS who will speak with us this weekend about the annual mission appeal of the Missionaries of Our Lady of La Salette. Father Nuelle will share his experiences as a Missionary in Madagascar with us. He and the other Missionaries of Our Lady of La Sallette preach the gospel in 27 countries. They minister to the poor in Angola, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, India, Madagascar, Myanmar and the Philippines. Thank you for your support of the missionary work of the Church in these countries.

Baby Clothing Needed

Parkland Pregnancy Center is in need of clean gently used baby clothing for newborn up to 24 months of age. There is a special need for boy summer clothes. You may take your donation to 815 E. Birthright Auction

Birthright of Hillsboro, Inc is planning their Dinner Auction for October 9, 2010, which will be held at the Community Civic Center in Hillsboro. Birthright is in need of auction items for the Oral and Silent Auctions, such as quilts, homemade crafts, new items, antiques, and tickets to sports events or gift certificates to businesses or restaurants.

Our 66thAnnual St. Joseph Festival will be held this year on Sunday, September 19, 2010. We have already started to contact our vendors and are busy securing ads for our placemats. Our next festival meeting for our committee chair people will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 13th.

Make your reservation! The St. Joseph’s Eighteenth Annual Benefit Golf Tournament will be held this year on Friday, August 13, 2010. Terre Du Lac Golf Course will host the 4 person scramble – flighted tournament. Tee time is 1:00 p.m. and the entry fee includes cart, green fees, refreshments and dinner at the Terre Du Lac Pavilion. Please register by completing the form enclosed in this weekend’s bulletin. 2010 Friends for Life

The Archdiocesan Respect Life Apostolate is conducting its annual "Friends for Life" Patron Drive next weekend. Your gift will help save the lives of unborn babies by providing material and emotional support for women experiencing crisis pregnancies. Your gift will help heal those who suffer as a result of an abortion through Project Rachel counseling. It will protect those who are disabled, frail or elderly by enhancing education about end of life decisions that respect the intrinsic value of every human life.

Envelopes will be available July 10th & 11th for the "Friends for Life" Patron Drive. Thank you for your faithful and generous support of the spiritual, educational, public policy and pastoral programs and outreach of the Respect Life Apostolate.

A special Mass, celebrated by Archbishop Robert Carlson, will be held on Sunday, September 26, 2010, at 2:30 p.m. at the Cathedral Basilica.
