Annual Catholic Appeal, 2007
We have received a good response to the Annual Catholic Appeal
letters that were mailed last week. We are still in need of your help. If you do not
return the signed pledge card to the Parish Office you will have to be contacted by phone
or a personal visit to your home. Either one of these options is time consuming and
require a lot of work. As stated in the letter we must notify the Archdiocese of the
results of the letters that were mailed. Please be so kind as to respond. Your gift large
or small is appreciated. If you cannot give at this time you must still sign the pledge
card. Your generosity and help now and in the past is greatly appreciated.

Please remember that a "Suggestion Box" is placed in the back of church. The
Parish Council welcomes any and all suggestions. Helpful hints that you have will help St.
Anne continue to move forward.
The next regular Parish Council meeting will be June 26th at
7:00PM.
Join Us for the Rosary
The Blessed Mother is still calling out to all of us. Please pray
for world peace. The rosary is both meditation and supplication. Insistent prayer to the
Mother of God is based on confidence that her maternal intercession can obtain all things
from the heart of her Son.
We ask you to join us in saying the rosary after Mass on Thursday
and Friday mornings.
Our Lady Sodality
Our next regular meeting will be Tuesday, July 10th at noon. We
will meet in the church hall. Please bring a brown bag lunch. Dessert and drinks will be
provided.
The school is in need of a statue of the Blessed Mother. The one
that they had has been broken. We have agreed to help replace this statue. We will have a
"BAKE SALE" on the weekend of July 14 & 15th to raise the money for this
project.
We will have our annual "CHRISTMAS IN OCTOBER". Craft
Booths are available for $10.00.
Second Marriage Program
Marriage Preparation Class especially designed for couples where
one of both persons has been married before. The class will take place at the Cardinal
Rigali Center on Friday, August 3, 2007 from 7-9:30PM and Saturday 9:00AM – 5PM. Fee
is $110. Reservations must be made by Tuesday, July 31. Please call Gail at 314-792-7178.
Peter’s Pence Collection
The worldwide Peter’s Pence began as a "pence" in
ninth-century England, when King Alfred the Great collected monies from English landowners
as financial support for the Pope.
Pope Pius IX formally instituted the modern Peter’s Pence
Collection in the 1860s. Special appeals have since been held in many countries on the
Sunday closest to June 29, the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul. The tradition of an annual
collection continues today for the charitable works of the Holy Father.
Contributions to the Peter’s Pence Collection…
Enable the Holy Father to respond with immediate emergency assistance to the most
disadvantaged throughout the world – those who suffer as a result of war,oppression,
disease, and natural disasters
nvolve the more than one billion Catholics worldwide in
supporting the Holy Father’s mission, an active expression of Christ’s love for
the poor
Have totaled more than $175 million in contributions by dioceses
of the United States, who generously provide nearly half of all gifts.
Your contribution to the Peter’s Pence Collection allows the
Holy Father to respond with timely and effective emergency assistance to our suffering
brothers and sisters throughout the world. Thus, in solidarity with the Pope, we Catholics
participate in works of goodness that distinguish us as followers of the Gospel.
The national date for the 2007 Peter’s Pence Collection is
the weekend of June 30-July 1. Thank you so much for your support of the works of the Holy
Father through the Peter’s Pence Collection.
