Their Mission
EWTN Global Catholic Network is dedicated to teaching the truth as
defined by the Magisterium of the Roman Catholic Church. In keeping with the Holy
Fathers call for a New Evangelization, EWTNs mission is to communicate the
teachings and the beauty of the Catholic Church and to help people grow in their love and
understanding of God and His infinite mercy.
"O God, Lord of heaven and earth, You alone have accomplished
all we have done. May this first Catholic satellite television Network be a tribute to the
beauty of Your Church. May Your Son, the Eternal Word, be glorified through this great
work of Your hands.
Bless all the programs that will issue forth from its facilities.
Justas Your Word issues forth from You, Lord Father, may that same Word touch each heart
that listens to this Network. Let Thy Spirit work with freedom through every teacher who
proclaims Thy truth and The Church. Bestow upon this Network the power to inspire men to
seek holiness of heart, zeal for the extension of Thy Church, courage to seek after
justice and human rights, and patience to endure persecution. May Thy paternal blessing
always rest upon it"

Last week Father John announced and had inserts in the bulletin
all about the volunteer Committee Chairmans names and their activities. These forms
have been placed in the pews this week.
Please take a moment and look over the jobs needed to make our
once a year, annual festival successful.
Saturday volunteers are so very important for setting up and
kitchen help to peel potatoes, preparing slaw and other dinner food preparation.
Every booth and dinner helper is important and greatly
appreciated.
Again please fill in your name and phone number where we can reach
you, along with the job number you would like to work.
Volunteers are asked to work 2 hour shifts, write in the hours you
are available. The Committee Chairpersons will call you to confirm your shift time.
Monday volunteers are needed to dismantle booths, tents and clean up. Please complete the
form if you can help. Free lunch is provided on both Saturday and Monday for all volunteer
workers.
Please remember to tell your family and friends to spread the word
about our festival to have a fun time while supporting our parish and the Christian
Community on Sunday, September 21,2008
Summertime Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank you for this summer season.
During this time, may we remember
the gift of the world you have given us.
For a while each summer of our lives is different. It is their similarities that bring
joyful anticipation. For you, there is no beginning or end, and all things are eternal and
at one time.
Yet we, who are bound to time, see and learn all things through beginnings and endings. As
spring ends and summer begins, may we see your reflection in this and every summer. For
though you are unchanging and eternal, there is always more to discover experience and
learn.
Amen.
