FRENCH VILLAGE,MO.
Picnic TODAY!
Today is Picnic Day! Come and share in the fun and fellowship of
the St. Anne Picnic, French Village. You will enjoy a feast of fried chicken, kettle beef
served with potatoes and gravy, liver dumplings, and all the trimmings. Dine in our
air-conditioned hall or outside in the screened in area. There will be games for adults
and children, Bingo, and a Live Band. The raffle prizes include $1,000 cash, a 19"
color TV, and beautiful handmade and machine quilts. Our Country Store/Fancy Stand will be
open. Dinner and fun will begin this morning at 11:00 a.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m.
See you there!
Picnic Prep
We are asking our families to bring 3 or more desserts (preferably
homemade) this morning to the picnic. Chocolate and angel food cakes, and fruit, coconut,
lemon and chocolate pies are the most popular desserts. Any and all help in the kitchens
and dining areas will be greatly appreciated. Please call Mary Beth Werner at
573-483-9693. Thank you in advance for your help.
2009 Annual
Catholic Appeal
Please support the 2009 Annual Catholic Appeal. You will never
know the impact your gift will make in someones life. Maybe your gift will help a
family going through a difficult time, maybe right here in your own parish. Your gift
could help lower tuition for the families of the children in our school, thus, giving them
a good Catholic education. Your gift no matter how small or large is important.
If you have not been able to pick up your pledge card, our
volunteers will try to reach you by phone or mail in order that you may be given an
opportunity to return your pledge card.
Office of Youth
Ministry News
The Youth will welcome Archbishop Carlson onAugust 30th
more information to come soon.
Mass of Installation
Archbishop-elect Robert J. Carlson will be installed as Archbishop
of Saint Louis at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June
10. The crosier and mitre will be carried and worn by the Archbishop; the crosier
represents the fact that the Archbishop is the shepherd of the flock entrusted to him,
while the mitre is the hat worn by a Bishop as a symbol of his office.
The installation Mass will be streamed live on archstl.org and a
recording of the homily (both video and audio) will be posted shortly after the Mass is
complete.
Daughters of Isabella
Mark your calendar! Our meeting will be held on Monday, June 8th.
We will pray the rosary at 6:45 p.m. and convene our meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the St.
Joseph Church Hall.
Reunion Celebration
The family of the late Gib & Catherine Weiss will be
participating in the 5:00 p.m. Mass on Saturday, June 13, as a part of their three day
reunion celebration. Catherines father was involved in the original construction of
our Church. Gib and Catherine were active members of our parish for most of their lives.
Their children and grand-children are also active and have been attendees of our school.
They ask that you keep them in your prayers for this time of family fellowship.
