Our Spring Wine & Cheese Tasting Party and Silent
Auction was a huge success! One hundred fifty guests enjoyed the delicious appetizers and
complementary wine. We were able to realize a profit of $6,500.
Father John, the staff and students would like to thank everyone
for their generous donations and efforts.

Diaper Shower
Gods Lifesavers are sponsoring a Diaper Shower
and will be collecting disposable diapers of any size. Diapers will be donated to various
agencies in St. Francois County where they can be distributed to families in need. The
collection of these disposable diapers will start on Mothers Day, May 10th, and end
on Fathers Day,
June 21st. The locations that will accept these donations include
Birthright, Parkland Pregnancy Center, and the St. Vincent De Paul Food Pantry (Park Hills
& Bonne Terre).

Picnic 2009
It is that time again! Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 7,
2009, and share in the fun and fellowship of the St. Anne Picnic, French Village. Come and
enjoy a feast of fried chicken, kettle beef served with potatoes and gravy, liver
dumplings, and all the trimmings. Dine in our air-conditioned hall or outside in the
screened in area. There will be games for adults and children, Bingo, and a Live Band. The
raffle prizes include $1,000 cash, a 19" color TV, and beautiful handmade and machine
quilts. Our Country Store/Fancy Stand will be open. Dinner and fun will begin at 11:00
a.m. and continue until 5:00 p.m. Bring your family and friends for a Great Picnic!
2009 Annual Catholic Appeal
As Catholics, we understand that serving others is our way of
constantly placing God first in our lives. As we "go in peace" throughout our
daily lives, we must seek ways in which we can return
to God what He has given to us. Your gift to the 2009 Annual
Catholic Appeal helps support the necessary financial needs of our schools, parishes,
charitable activities and apostolates in the Archdiocese.
Thank you for your generous pledges of support to this years
Appeal. Please come by the parish office and sign your pledge card if you have not already
done so.
Youth Encounter
Operation Overhaul, Vincentian Marian Youths weeklong
mission trip is scheduled for the week of June 14-20 and will take place in Springfield,
MO.
This event is for high school age teens. The cost of the event is
$200. Sign up forms can be obtained from the website vmy.us or by calling the VMY office

Vocational Retreat
New Melleray Trappist Monastery near Dubuque, Iowa, is now
offering a "Live-in Experience" vocational retreat May 22-25th. For more

Adult Catholics who have not yet received the Sacrament of
Confirmation are invited to join Bishop Hermann, and nearly 200 other adult confirmands at
the annual Mass for the Confirmation of Adults, May 31 (Pentecost
Sunday) at 2:30 p.m. at the
Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, 4431 Lindell Boulevard in St. Louis. Please contact the
parish office for information on how to prepare to complete your sacramental initiation
into the Catholic Church and to receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Mass of Installation
Cardinal Justin Rigali will install Archbishop-elect Robert J.
Carlson as the 9th Archbishop of St. Louis on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. at
the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis. For those unable to attend, the Mass will be streamed
live on www.archstl.org.
Evening Prayer is scheduled for Tuesday, June 9,2009, at 7:30 p.m. at the Cathedral
Basilica. Civic and religious leaders and representatives from the Archdiocese of St.
Louis will be presented to Archbishop-elect Carlson during the service.
Receptions will be held at Rosati-Kain High School after both the
Installation Mass and the Evening Prayer Service. All events are open to the public.

The Catholic Home Missions Appeal supports religious education and
