The Spirits work in our lives
after all these years continues to amaze me.
Thank you for responding to the
Spirits call to be present for our Eucharistic Adoration on Friday. All the hours were filled and although I did not
check each hour, when I did go over for a little visit there was always someone present. This wasnt a swell of fervor but it is a
wonderful beginning. Lets work on
moving the Benediction crowd from 14 that were present to 20 in June and 40 in July etc.
I would like to thank all those who
have donated to our Picnic Partners program this year.
This program is to provide some up front money for the Festival and also
give an opportunity to those who cant be here or those who cannot participate in the
Festival this year to help. We have about a
month and a half left but I would appreciate your help now.
In addition to the tax deduction you get, for every $10.00 you donate we
will enter your name into our Grand Prize Raffle.
For your information: There will be
something new in your regular Sunday contribution packet that you receive in the mail. A MAIL BACK ENVELOPE. This will enable those who would like to use the
mail rather than the ushers at Mass to support St. Joseph or St. Anne. The reply envelopes will provide you with an easy
way of staying current with your financial stewardship commitments when you are not able
to participate in the Sunday or Holy Day liturgy here at St. Joseph and St. Anne. Currently 15-20% of our total weekly collection
comes in the mail. During the months of
summer and in the winter many of you are away to vacation or visit family on the weekends
or maybe you are here only part time this will be a way to exercise stewardship
faithfulness.
I hope this will be helpful to you
faithful and generous parishioners.
May God bless you in your generosity.
Father
John

FESTIVAL NEWS

games, puzzles, quilts, dishes, etc. Items
must be in good condition, clean (ready to use). Please no clothing! Hand made crafts,
small items for the Parcel Post. Any size
baskets and gift bags are greatly appreciated. Ribbons
and bowshand towels and used silverware. Call
431-0097 for more information.
ATTENTION BINGO GROUP LEADERS AND WORKERS
As everyone is aware, for the past year our
Tuesday evening Bingo has not been
successful. In order to meet our obligation
to St. Joseph School we are forced to change our Bingo occasion evening. At the present time there are no Thursday evening
Bingos in our area and after taking a survey from our players they plan to support
our Thursday evening Bingo if we should make the change.
This is not an easy decision since we all have arranged our schedules around
Tuesday evening. We are hopeful that our
dedicated people will continue to work their designated evenings. New schedules are being prepared and will be
available each Tuesday evening you work this month and you may pick one up at the rectory
at any time during the week. Instead of your
Tuesday you will work on Thursday in June. New
workers are always needed. If you could spare
a Thursday evening and would like to work, please call the rectory. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to
St. Joseph School.
Todd Andrew Walter and Nicole Elizabeth
Rose Pratte will enter into the Holy Sacrament of Matrimony on June 11, 2005.
Congratulations
to Jim & Sue Koeller as they celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Jim
and Sue were married on May 14, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church, Crystal City, Mo. by Father
Alvin Acton. They were blessed three
children. Karin Hammond, deceased, Susan King
and James Koehler II. They also have three
grandchildren. Sue is retired from Kroger
Food Store and Jim has retired from John Fabic Tractor Co.
Lets wish them the best as they renew their vows this morning.
OUR LADYS SODALITY
The Ladies would like to take this opportunity
to thank all that helped make our first Bake Sale and Baby Shower for Birthright a
success. $158.00 was made on the Bake Sale
and 38 gifts were collected for Birthright along with $10.00 in donations.
ST. ANNE PARISH PICNIC
Our
Picnic is just around the corner and the Country Store could use your help. We have many baskets that need to be filled with
various items. Things to bake with-make
cakes, etc. body lotion powder etc. baby things-garden tools etc. We are also in need of other items to fill our
shelves. Should you need a pick up or want to
drop them off at church just call Janet Mecey 358-0684, Maureen Frangel 431-6066 or
