Picnic –

It is that time again! Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 13, 2010 and share
in the fun and fellowship of the St. Anne Picnic, French Village. We will be serving fried
chicken, kettle beef and liver dumplings. The dinner tickets are $8 for adults and $4 for
children. There will be a Live Band and games for adults and children. Bingo will begin at
1:00 p.m. The top raffle prize is $1,000 cash. Our festivities start at 11:00 a.m.
Thank you to all who have donated to the Country Store/Fancy Stand. We are
still in need of handcrafted gifts, books, homemade jellies, jams, relishes, and gently
used items.

Prayer for Mothers
Dear God,
On this day that we honor mothers, may we draw strength from the
mothers who went before us. May we remember Jochebed, mother of Moses, who gave her son
over to God’s providence
when forces that threatened him were beyond her control. May we remember the mother of
Mary, St. Anne, who helped her daughter learn an openness to
God’s will. May we remember St. Monica, who suffered an abusive spouse and her
son’s poor choices, but lived to see her child’s return to God. Most of all, we
remember Mary. Though she watched her child suffer and die, she also saw His
resurrection and glory
and was in turn glorified by Him. Amen.
A special blessing for mothers will be given at all the Masses this weekend.
Daughters of Isabella
We will have a Mother’s Day Bake Sale on May 8thand 9th.
Please bring your cakes, pies, cookies and baked goods before the 5:00 p.m. Mass on
Saturday.
Our State Regent, Mary Jo Ballenger, will be our
guest at our meeting on May 10th. Please bring a side dish or dessert. Dinner will start
at 6:00 p.m.
A big thank you to everyone who baked pies, cooked, prepped,
served, and cleaned up at the Top Ten Dinner. It was a wonderful success.
