Birthright
Mothers Day is May 11th. We have beautiful Mothers
Cards from Birthright of Hillsboro available in our Church. Take one or more cards and
send your donation to Hillsboro Birthright by using the self-addressed envelope inside the
card. Your donation is used to help an expectant mother give life to her baby. What a
wonderful gift you are giving! God bless you for your love.
Annual Catholic Appeal
In todays Gospel Jesus tells us "I will
not leave you orphans; I will come to you." These words of comfort
are manifest in the many forms of outreach in the Archdiocese made possible by the Annual
Catholic Appeal. As baptized Christians we share the responsibility to treat each person
as a child of God. Please support those who will benefit from the 2008 Annual Catholic
Appeal This is Our Faith! You can meet some of the people who benefit at www.ThisIsOur Faith.net.
This weekend a Guest Speaker from the Archdiocese of St. Louis
will be visiting with us at all the Masses.
You are invited to come downstairs and sign your pledge card. If
you are unable to participate this year it is still necessary for you to sign the card.

Eucharistic Adorations
The Pope encourages us "to cultivate in our hearts a constant
desire for the Sacrament of the Eucharist" The practice of "spiritual
communion" in which you ask the Lord to enter your heart, is an opportunity for union
with God at times when you cannot receive the sacrament. It is not a substitute, however.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is "a priceless
treasure" and a "wellspring of grace." It prolongs and increased the fruit
of our communion. It provided an opportunity to express our gratitude and love. Please
come and celebrate with us on Friday, May 2nd, 2008 beginning at 8:30 am. Benediction at
5:00 pm.
