Dear Friends in Christ,
Catholics in the home missions Appalachia, the Deep South,
the Southwest, the Mountain West, and the young dioceses of the Caribbean and the Pacific
face challenges to living their faith that most of us in larger, more established
dioceses never have to accept. You can help by contributing to the Catholic Home Missions
Appeal.
In our own country, approximately 85 dioceses are unable to
provide the most basic pastoral ministries for their people without outside funding. All
of these poor U.S. dioceses need financial assistance for parish support, evangelization,
religious education, campus ministry, seminary training, ethnic ministries and youth and
lay ministry programs.
On the weekend of April 26-27 the collection for the Catholic Home
Missions Appeal will be taken up throughout the Archdiocese, and I encourage you to be
generous to this appeal which supports people in so many poor, remote and rural parts of
the United States and its dependencies.
I am deeply grateful to you for supporting this cause.
Sincerely in Christ,
Most Reverend Justin Rigali
Archbishop of St. Louis
This year, the Archdiocesan Development Appeal will be held in our
parish the next two week-ends (April 26-27 & May 3-4). Pledge cards, as well as
workers to assist you, will be in the Church Hall these two weekends. Please take a few
minutes to fill out you pledge card(be sure to sign it) and return it. You generous gift
will help an estimated one-half million people through the various programs that are
funded by the ADA, including our own parish which received $10,000.00 for Parish Teacher
Salary Assistance and $1,350.00 from the Catholic Families Tuition Assistance Endowment
Grant. Please give generously.
There is BIG NEWS about our Festival! The PLUMMER FAMILY SHOW will
be the featured entertainment at our Festival on June 22!
Yes, that is the same Plummer Family that for more than 30 years
thrilled huge crowds as one of the top shows in Branson. This top notch show will perform
two FREE shows during the Festival. So start spreading the word!
The Plummer Show will bring a big crowd to our Festival. This can
establish the parish as one of the top festivals in the area, but to do that we need more
than just the Plummers. We need YOU!
each and every one of you !
People are needed to run enough events so our guests will have a
great time and plan to come back. Only then can we take advantage of this chance. By doing
so we can insure more funds to educate our children in St. Joseph School.
There will be announcements of even more innovations to make our
Festival an exciting and fun place. An event you can point to with pride knowing you have
been a part of its rebirth.
Please sign up for the Festival in the Church Hall after Mass. It
will only take a matter of minutes.
There is a job for everyone!
