SERVING OTHERS
When we serve others, we give witness
to our unity and our solidarity in Jesus Christ. In those without work, the sick, the elderly and
the handicapped we meet Christ. In our
families, parishes, schools and neighborhoods we build up the Body of Christ through
countless moments of grace.
The
Annual Catholic Appeal, formerly
the Archdiocesan Development Appeal, is an appeal to the Catholic community to make a
sacrifice to offer a gift that will provide hope.
This Appeal
is how we as Catholics
reach out to a wider community to share our spiritual gifts and material goods for the
service of others.
You are invited to participate
in the Annual Catholic
Appeal. A new generation of Catholics, young
people, younger families, and families with children in our schools and parish schools of
religion, are joining those who have made giving a tradition
in the Archdiocese of St.
Louis for generations.
Please open your heart in gratitude
for the gifts you have
been given, and return a portion of those gifts for the service of others.

FESTIVAL 2005
Our annual St. Joseph Festival will be
held on June 26, 2005. Work is
well under way. Your help this year is
especially important. We will have our
traditional dinner of Fried Chicken Kettle Beef
Liver Dumplings plus all the trimmings
including Deserts and Drinks. Advance tickets
and carry out available.
A letter will be coming soon to
all of our parishioners. Once again we ask
for your support.
Enter the Raffle for a chance of $1000.00 or a quilt and other prizes. As in the past you
may sell as many as possible
The Picnic Partners has had a
tremendous response. Thank you to all that
has given so far. If you have been thinking
about it and just been putting it off we are still accepting donations. Please drop it by the office or drop in the
regular collection basket.
Good
luck to the Parish Festival Committee, who work so hard getting things together and lets
all try our best to have a fun but successful Festival.
The Home and School Association will
hold their monthly Breakfast today after the 7:00a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Mass. Today is the
day to let someone else do the cooking. You can have the opportunity to sit back and take
it easy. The parents of our children in St.
Joseph School will be preparing this delicious meal of Bacon, French Toast, Biscuits and
Gravy. All proceeds will go to benefit our
School.
Last week you saw the flyer in the
bulletin about the upcoming School Dinner/ Auction. This
is the 12th annual Dinner/Auction
and will be held on April 30, 2005. The
parents who head up this fun filled evening have a Wish List of things that could be
donated for the Auction.
If
you would like to join us in an evening of dinner and fun, please call the school at
573-358-5947 no later than April 15, 2005.
