ENSURING PARISH
VIABILITY GRANT
Father John and the parishioners of St. Joseph have received the
following message from the (Most Rev.) Raymond L. Burke, Archbishop of St. Louis:
Dear Father Schneider,
I am pleased to accept the recommendation of the Archdiocesan
Pastoral Council and award an Ensuring Parish Viability Grant of $15,000.00 to Saint
Joseph Parish for the purpose of expanding storage space and removal of an outer building.
I personally ask that you remind your parishioners that only through their
participation and donations to programs such as Returning
Gods Gifts and the Annual Catholic Appeal that
the Archdiocese is able to make these grants happen. The Parish is commended for its
successful ACA efforts to increase participation in 2006 to 55%.
My prayers and best wishes to you and your good people.

Genevieve Parish we will celebrate the gift of Divine Mercy with exposition, benediction
and confessions. The celebration and is open to the entire deanery. Four extra confessors
will be available.
A FRIENDLY REMINDER
We had stopped the practice of holding hands during the
Lords Prayer because of the flu season. Beginning May 6th we will resume
the practice of holding hands during the Lords Prayer. This, of course, is optional.
Sometime ago it was requested that we bow our head prior to
receiving Holy Communion. It is customary to bow your head while the person in front of
you receives the Host. You are then ready to accept the Body and Blood of Christ.
FIRST COMMUNION
This Sunday we will celebrate the First Reception of Holy
Communion by 12 members of our parish family. These young seeds of our faith have grown
from Baptism through Reconciliation and now to the reception of the Body and Blood of
Christ. Please congratulate Rory Basden, Matt Black, Alyssa Bley, Britteny Brice, Katie
Godier, Justin Luebbers, Matthew Momot, Anna Ortmann, Matthew Ortmann and Emma Patt. As a
faith community we need to encourage their families to help them continue to grow in their
faith.
Have you registered
in our parish?
Please fill out the form below and drop it in the collection basket or by the rectory.
