Mark your calendar! The school’s Spring Wine Tasting and
Silent Auction Fundraiser has been set for Saturday, May 1, 2010. We are currently
accepting any and all donations. Our basket drive was a huge success last year and we
would like to continue it this year, so if you have any extra baskets at home that you
would like to donate to a good cause, please bring them to the school or the Church gift
shop. If you have any questions about the event or donations or need assistance, please

Children’s Mass
There will be a special Children’s Mass for all the
children of the parish and their families on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010. Father John will
celebrate this Mass in which the children will participate in a special Children’s
Liturgy and pray for their families. All are welcome on Palm Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in the
St. Joseph School’s Auditorium.
This Mass is in addition to the 10:00 a.m. Mass to be
celebrated by Father Ray Oge in the Church.

Berry Road, is owned by a family who have been long time parishioners and supporters of

Retreat for Caregivers
The Office of Laity and Family Life will sponsor a
Retreat for Caregivers on Tuesday, April 13, 2010. This one day event is designed to bring
spiritual, emotional and physical refreshment to all who provide care for a loved one. The
Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury will host this seminar. If you would like to attend,
please call 314-792-7183 by April 6th in order to register for this retreat.
Taking Up Our Cross
and Following Christ
We need Lent. In the midst of our busy lives,
with worldly forces and temptations working hard to distract us from the call of Christ,
the weeks of Lent are a gift. As we fast, pray, and extend our hands to the poor, we are
imitating Christ, joining ourselves more closely to Him. He suffered and sacrificed; so do
we. He lives in eternal joy; so will we, as we follow Him in hope.
Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults
The Scrutinies are celebrated in order to
deliver the elect from the power of sin and Satan, to protect them from temptation, and to
give them strength in Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life. These rites,
therefore, should complete the conversion of the elect and deepen their resolve
to hold fast to Christ and to carry out their decision
to love God above all.
The Celebrant gives a special blessing which assures
them of our loving support and prayers. We look forward to the day when they will share
fully in the Lord’s Table.
Penance Services
Lent resounds with the theme of reconciliation and the
call to repentance. That call is not about dwelling on our sins and being even more
burdened by them, but the opposite: bringing them to God in sorrow and hope for
forgiveness.

We are in need of someone to train this year for the Bingo at
the St. Anne Picnic. Please call Shirley Byington at 358-3945 or Kim Loveless at 358-1377
as soon as possible if you would be willing to train this year and then take over the
Bingo operation next year for the picnic.
