Childrens Mass
There will be a special Childrens Mass for all the children of the
parish and their families on Palm Sunday, March 28, 2010. Father John will celebrate this
Mass in which the children will participate in a special Childrens Liturgy and pray
for their families. All are welcome on Palm Sunday at 10:00 a.m. in the St. Joseph
Schools Auditorium.
This Mass is in addition to the 10:00 a.m. Mass to be celebrated by Father
Ray Oge in the Church.
Pray the Rosary
The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the
awesome story of our salvation. Please join us on Thursday mornings after the 8:00 a.m.
Mass or at 4:30 p.m. before the Saturday evening Mass and rediscover the rosary.
Church Directories
Do you have any old pictorial church directories that you would
like to donate to the Church library? We are trying to assemble a complete collection of
all past directories in order to provide a pictorial narrative, which would illustrate the
history and growth of St. Joseph and St. Anne parishes. Please call the office at 358-2112
if you can help us with this project.
Stations of the Cross
Please join us in prayer as we meditate upon Christs
selfless sacrifice during the Stations of the Cross on Wednesday and Friday mornings at
8:30 a.m.
Rite of Christian
Initiation of Adults
The Scrutinies are solemnly celebrated on the
Sundays of Lent. They are rites of self-searching and repentance and have above all a
spiritual purpose. The Scrutinies are meant to uncover, then heal all that is weak,
defective, or sinful in the hearts of the elect; to bring out, then strengthen all that is
upright, strong, and good.
The elect are dismissed from Mass after the homily and
will go to an "out of the way place" to discuss and renew after a special
blessing by the celebrant from all of you. Please pray for them.
Penance Services
Lent resounds with the theme of reconciliation and the
call to repentance. That call is not about dwelling on our sins and being even more
burdened by them, but the opposite: bringing them to God in sorrow and hope for
forgiveness.
The Lenten communal reconciliation services available
are:
March 23 St. James Potosi 7:00 p.m.
March 20 St. Joachim Old Mines
12-4 p.m.
March 29 Immaculate Conception
Park Hills 7:00 p.m.
March 29 St. Joseph Bonne Terre7:00 p.m.
Catholic Relief Services
Today, we take up The Catholic Relief Services Collection. You are invited to
give hope to Jesusin disguise. This collection helps to fund programs that give hope to
refugees, immigrants, and the impoverished, including victims of war, natural disaster,
and drought. Through humanitarian, economic, pastoral, and advocacy efforts, The Catholic
Relief Services Collection gives hope. Please be generous in todays collection.
Mother of Perpetual Help
Come pray with us the Devotions to our Mother of
Perpetual Help at 7:55 a.m. on Tuesdays.
