NEWS FROM GOD’S LIFESAVERS
There will be a Prolife Rally (Missourians Against Cloning)
in Jefferson City on March 7th and several from God’s Lifesavers will be
attending. For additional information on this rally, check with Karen Snead at 358-5685.
One of our active members, Brigham Ross, is in NHC HealthCare of
Desloge, recovering from a leg infection. If you would like to send Brig a card, the

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
St. Vincent de Paul will have a meeting on Friday, March 9th

to all who agreed to run for the Parish Council. Congratulations and
best wishes for much success to our new Parish Council that was announced last week.
Father will give the newly elected Council a special blessing this week during Mass.
During this season of Lent, St. Anne will have another 40 hour devotion ending
with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament on Friday, March 23rd.
Don’t forget we will be celebrating the 40th year of ordination
and 65th birthday of Father Ray Oge on March 11th. Please use the
sign-up sheet in the back of church.
LENTEN FISH FRYS
This Friday, March 9th is our third Lenten Fish Fry
provided by the Knights of Columbus, St. Francois Council 1088. The Hall is located at
7897 Berry Road. Serving begins at 4:00pm. Carry-outs are available. Adults $7.00 –
Children $3.00. ALL FRIDAYS OF LENT are days of
abstinence from meat. Please come and join us!!

"We are all made by the Almighty and we must place our trust in
Him. The words (in the Bible) are so powerful. The word is very powerful. In the word is
the Almighty. It’s like food for the brain and food for the belly.. It fills you
up."
MY OFFERING TO GOD:
Sun., March 4, 2007: I will set aside time today to reflect on the
teachings of Jesus Christ.
Mon., March 5, 2007: Today I will donate tothe less fortunate.
Tue., March 6, 2007: I’ll follow Christ’s example of servanthood and
look for ways I can serve others today.
Wed., March 7, 2007: I thank the Lord for His sacrifice on my behalf.
Thurs., March 8, 2007: I will not eat between meals, and I will help feed the hungry.
Fri., March 9, 2007: I will make Jesus the foundation of my life.
Sat., March 10, 2007: I will pray for those who feel that they are far from the Father.
YOU MAY ASK
WHY SAND IN THE HOLY WATER FONTS?
Sand placed in the Holy Water Fonts during the Lenten season is a reminder
to us that Jesus went out into the dessert for 40 days to fast, pray and do penance.
During Lent we, too, should be praying, fasting and doing penance. We are in a dark time.
It is now that we are preparing ourselves for the joyous resurrection of our Lord from the
dead. He is the light and salvation of the world. On Holy Saturday we bless the new fire
(light) and new water (salvation). At that time new Holy Water will be placed back into
the Holy Water Fonts. We do not sign ourselves with sand in or out of church.
