HOORAY! We have another Station that has been wandering for the past eight months returned to its proper spot. This was the Station that was inadvertently dropped when the Church was being painted. The painters reimbursed us for the repair and our LADY QUILTERS most generously footed the bill for the restoration. The 14th and 6th Station has been restored along with their pedestals. If you would like to see the need for the repairs just compare the old and the new. Look at the cloak of Jesus on the 7th station and see the beauty of the 6th. Station. I admit that it does not make a startling difference but it is the sealed Statue and the subtleties of the shading that mark it as having been repaired by an artist. The cost to restore a Statue is $700.00 and the base is an additional $300.00. We have a lot of Statues left to restore and if you would like to help please get in contact with me.

PLEASE HELP

A LADIES PURSE WAS LOST IN THE KITCHEN ON THE DAY OF THE FESTIVAL. IF ANYONE HAS INFORMATION, PLEASE CONTACT THE RECTORY

My Dear Friends:

God challenges us with sickness to ourselves and our loved ones. I believe our awareness and our prayers to God for the sick are important. The Prayer List printed in the bulletin will be published for two weeks and after that they will be added to the Prayer List that is remembered everyday at Mass and can be viewed on the Prayer List that is in the back of Church.

For your information, there is a book on the Offertory Table that you can add an intention for the Mass you are attending that day. There is also a pulpit announcement that we will try to limit to the people in the hospital.

To summarize: (1)The sick list that is published in the bulletin will be for a period of two weeks. (2) Those people if you request will be transferred to the Book of Prayers in the back of Church and will be adjusted monthly. You can remain on that list indefinitely. (3) The Intention Book on the Offertory Table is for your personal intentions when you attend Mass. (4) The sick list mentioned from the pulpit will be for those people in the hospital.

Please continue to ask the community to pray for the sick but they will be adjusted weekly. We can all pray for the Communion of Saints and the sick. None of the avenues are better than the other one. This communication is to help us put some order in our prayer request for the sick and is not meant to slight anyone in anyway. I would be interested in hearing your comments but please help me to handle the overwhelming number of requests.

The Archdiocesan Pro-Life Committee is conducting its annual convention patron drive. The Gospel of Life calls us to respect and protect all human life, especially the most vulnerable of our brothers and sisters. You can be a "Friend for Life". Your contribution will enable us to continue: helping women experiencing crisis pregnancies, saving lives of unborn babies; protecting the vulnerable, the weak and elderly, educating about the sanctity of human life; and ministering to those who suffer from the aftermath of an abortion experience.

Next weekend you will find envelopes in the pews for Friends for Life. Please put them in the collection basket.

All Friends for Life (patrons) will be listed in the Archdiocesan Pro-Life Committee’s Annual Convention Book.

St. Joseph Catholic Elementary School reopens its doors on Wednesday, August 22nd. at 7:50 a.m. for the 2001/2002 school year. The students and teachers will attend Mass on this day. Please come and celebrate the first day of school with the students at the 8:00a.m. Mass.

All young people that are Kindergarten through High School are asked to register for PSR classes this weekend. Someone will be in the Church Hall after every Mass to help you register. There will be a fee of $50.00 per family to help cover expenses.

This fee can be paid at the time of registration or brought to the first class.

Classes will begin on September 5th at 6:30p.m. at Immaculate Conception Church
