CONGRATULATIONS
This Sunday, at the 11:00a.m. Mass, we will have the opportunity of celebrating the 50th anniversary of Father Wilbert Bruns, C.M. on his ordination to the priesthood .

This weekend you will have the opportunity to sign up to attend the Corpus Christi Mass at the Trans World Dome at 5:30p.m. on Saturday, June 16. This Mass will conclude our Archdiocesan Eucharistic Congress. Cards will be available in the pews for you to sign up for the Mass, then present them to the ushers as you leave the church. They will immediately present you with the number of tickets you request for the Mass.

Archbishop Rigali invites and encourages every parishioner who is able to attend the Mass to be present for this great expression of faith and love for Jesus present in the Eucharist.

FESTIVAL NEWS
New or like new items are needed for the Parcel Post Booth. Items can be left at the Rectory or call Shirley Christopher at 358-5440 or Marie Young at 358-5682. We will pick up your items.

This Bishops of Missouri have decided to transfer the Solemnity of Ascension from Thursday to the following Sunday.

The transfer, beginning this year, will mean that the feast will fall not on Thursday, May 24, 2001 but on Sunday, May 27, 2001. In subsequent years the same principle will be followed. The 7th Sunday of Easter will be replaced by the Solemnity of the Ascension.

The Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord provided us with the opportunity to commemorate an important aspect of the mystery of Christ. From the earliest days of the Church, the celebration of the Ascension of the Lord has completed the commemoration of the presence of the risen Lord, which characterizes the season of Easter. In the Ascension, we recall not only the Lord’s union with the Father in glory, but His command to the Church to continue His mission until His promised return.
