RENEW 2001 The focus for the second session is "LISTENING TO GODS WORD."When we hear the Word of God and reflect deeply on it, we receive the power to respond to it actively with full faith, hope, and charity through prayer and self-giving, and not only during Mass but in our entire Christian life. Two groups will meet at 8:30a.m., one in the meeting room and one in the church. All are invited to attend. The Knights of Columbus will have their Fish Fry in the Church Hall every Friday during Lent from 4:00PM to 6:30PM. Adults $6.00, children $3.00. Carryouts available. All proceeds benefit St. Joseph School. The annual Lenten season is the fitting time to climb the holy mountain of Easter. The Lenten season has a double character, namely to prepare both catechumens and faithful to celebrate the paschal mystery. The catechumens, both with the rite of election and scrutinies, and by catechesis, are prepared for the celebration of the sacraments of Christian initiation; the faithful, ever more attentive to the word of God and prayer, prepare themselves by penance for the renewal of their baptismal promises. Notice JUST A REMINDER: First Communion and Confirmation gifts are now available at the Religious Articles Gift Shop. Are you considering your Lenten resolution? If you attend a Marriage Encounter weekend, you can deepen your relationship with God and also your spouse. The next weekend will take place March 9-11.
