The response to the "Giving Tree" has been fantastic. Many presents have arrived. All gifts must be returned before December 17th. The gifts and baskets will be distributed on Saturday, December 18th.

"Go and tell John what you hear and see: the blind regain their sight, the lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, and the dead are raised…"

MATTHEW 11:4-5

When Jesus cured the sick we called it a miracle. Yet God has blessed us with many good things – our eyesight, our hearing, our talents, our health and so much more – and we often take it all for granted. The good steward recognizes every blessing in life as a miracle from God and strives to use those gifts for God’s honor and glory.

WINTER SHOOT OUT

The Fundraiser Committee will be hosting a "Winter Shoot Out" on January 15th and 16th, 2005. There is a list of the activities that will need your support and participation. Remember, there is always room to add more ideas and to be creative. Further information will be in the bulletin. Watch for it.

You are to be congratulated for being so faithful, and enduring the elements last week while ringing the Salvation Army Bell at Walmart and Country Mart. I know I can count on you next year to do an equally good job for the poor. In doing this you are sharing God’s mercy, which he gives to all of us so freely.

On the week-end of December 18th. and 19th, Charles Backer , a seminarian will be visiting St. Joseph and St. Anne. He will be speaking to us about his seminary experiences and encouraging us to contribute to the annual Seminary Collection on Christmas Day.

Charlie’s picture is second from the left, top row on the seminarian’s photo that we display in the vestibule. It tells you what parish he serves and what high school he attended. He is now a third year college seminarian at Cardinal Glennon – Kenrick Seminary.

Please pray for vocations.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

Pope John Paul has asked that each of us increase our adoration to the Blessed Sacrament. St. Joseph offers you the opportunity to spend some time in prayer and meditation every Friday from 4:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. If you cannot make it at this time the rosary will be said at 5:00p.m.
