School News

Wave the white flag!! The penny war is over. Mrs. Mason’s class finished third and Mrs. Akin’s class finished second. The winners were Mrs. Basden’s class. The real winners were the Missions of the Holy Childhood Association as our students collected $467.35. The school kids were all rewarded with a "Casual Day" while the staff wore uniforms! Students were served their lunches by the waitress staff of St. Joe Diner. The staff graciously acted as waitresses and waited on the student’s tables. Monsignor Blood was invited to come to lunch to receive the donation.

The annual Christmas program for the school is December 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the Bonne Terre City Hall Auditorium (Old Bonne Terre Elementary). The program is entitled "Christmas at the OK Corral". You are welcome to attend this western musical. Donations will be collected for the St. Patrick Center for the Homeless. The raffle drawing will be held before the program for the Gift Card Basket and Quilt.

You are invited to join your Church family and enjoy the festivities at our Christmas party which will be held on Sunday, December 13th at 4:00 p.m. Please note that this party date has been changed from December 6th to December 13th. We ask each family to bring a covered side dish of their choice or a dessert to share. The meat will be provided. There will be games and holiday fun for everyone. We hope to see you and your family there. For more info, please call Carole Seyfarth at 358-0552.

Immaculate Conception

On Tuesday, December 8th, we will celebrate the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. The Immaculate Conception refers to the distinct honor given to Mary by God as being "full of grace". In 1846, the bishops of the Unites States chose Mary under the title of The Immaculate Conception as the heavenly patron of the Church in the United States. Tuesday is a holy day of obligation. Masses will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m. and  5:00 p.m. at St. Joseph. There will be a Mass at 6:30 p.m. at St. Anne Parish.

Giving Tree Ornaments

Give the gift of Christmas joy and choose an ornament from our Christmas tree. Your wonderful generosity gives a child in need a special Christmas. Please remember that these children do not receive a Christmas gift if you choose an ornament and do not bring back a gift to put under the tree. Bring your wrapped presents (with the giving tree tag attached) no later than December 18th. Thank you for giving these children a Merry Christmas.

Bonne Terre Memorial
Christmas Tree

Shearin Funeral Home and Boyer Funeral Home will sponsor a community Memorial Christmas Tree and Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, December 7th.
