We greatly appreciate the beautiful American flag and stand that the Knights of Columbus, Council 1088 recently donated to our School. It has been placed on the stage and is used daily by the students for the Pledge of Allegiance. The School community is grateful for this much needed addition.

NEW YEAR’S EVE CHAMPAGNE BREAKFAST

The millennium Midnight Mass and Champagne Breakfast was such a great success as we ushered in the year 2000 that we are going to repeat it this year with Midnight Mass and a Champagne Breakfast in the Church Hall. There will soon be details in the bulletin and an opportunity for you to RSVP so we can plan the event. Come and have a good time with your fellow parishioners and celebrate the New Year!

ATTENTION STUDENTS OF ST ANNE

If you would like to participate in the St. Anne Christmas Program scheduled for December 8th it is not too late!

Please meet with Pam Brickler and the other students in the back of Church after Mass today.

The final figures of the annual Hog Shoot is not yet complete.

Congratulations to Cele Govero on winning the shot gun and Lance Faraone on winning the 22 rifle.

This weekend, we will hold the annual appeal for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. It has been an effective and compassionate response to the needs of low-income people in our diocese and throughout the country. Please be generous. As always your help is greatly appreciated.

Next weekend you will have the opportunity to choose an ornament from our Christmas Giving Tree. This year we seem to have an unusual large number of requests from the children in our area. We have collected in excess of 50 plus names. Please remember to take an ornament, purchase the gift requested and wrap and return before December 21. You will make someone feel special and also give yourself a boost.

ADOPTION AS A GIFT OF LOVE

A crisis pregnancy can be a opportunity for love twice given. The birth mother realizes she is capable of the sacrificial love needed to give her baby the best possible start in life. After giving her child the gift of life, she gives the adoptive parents the wondrous gift of her child to cherish and raise. In thanksgiving for this courage for the love and open arms of the adoptive family and for these much loved children themselves, a special Mass will be celebrated on Sunday, November 24, 2002 at 12 noon. Archbishop Juistin Rigali will offer this Mass and Special Blessing at the Cathedral Basilica for all those who’ve been involved in an adoption in any way. A reception will follow in the Cathedral School cafeteria. For more information please call 314-792-7400.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Bob Franz and Cecilia LaBeaume. May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

CHURCH WEDDING POLICY

The wedding may take place in either the bride’s or groom’s parish. The parish where the wedding will take place needs to be consulted at least six months before the intended date. A wedding date is NOT confirmed with the church until the meeting with the priest or deacon. Deposits on halls etc. are unwise and at your own risk until the confirmation is made with the church. A marriage preparation program (Pre-Cana lectures, home meetings with a married couple, or Engaged Encounter Retreat) follows the agreement. Deposit on the church is required after the first meeting.
