CATHOLIC CAMPAIGN FOR HUMAN DEVELOPMENT
Poverty in America is on the rise
nearly 35 million Americans live below the poverty line.
But we can reverse the trend by rekindling the spirit of community with
those in need by joining in solidarity to break he cycle of poverty. The Catholic Campaign for Human Development
(CCHD) supports self-help projects of poor and low-income people working together to
improve their lives and their communities. Please
give generously to CCHD in todays collection.

MATTHEW 5-7: HOW TO BE HAPPY
WEEK
5 LOOK AT YOUR FINANCES
Jewish tradition held that well-healed people
should not hold on to their wealth, because poor people cannot survive unless those with
money share their resources with those who are in financial need. In the fifth week of our program o the Sermon on
the Mount, we consider a Christian vision of material wealth. Gods purpose for our material resources is
to meet human needs. Jesus does not lay down
rules for exactly how we should do this. He
tells us to strive first for the Kingdom of God. Saint Augustine teaches us that we are to
seek material things to the extent that they enable us to serve the coming of the Kingdom.
EUCHARISTIC ADORATION
A CALL TO PRAYER
In addition to the Rosary, we have been asked
to increase our Eucharistic adoration, renewing our faith in Christs gift of His
living presence. In our Eucharistic
adoration, not only do we present our sentiments of praise, adoration, thanksgiving,
reparation and supplication to the Lord, but we listen to Him as He offers us His peace of
soul and as He leads us back to the Eucharistic celebration of the Mass.
Eucharistic adoration is offered to our
parishioners every Friday from 5:00p.m. to 6:00p.m. with the Rosary beginning at 6:00p.m.
On
Thanksgiving Day the rosary will be said at 7:30 a.m..
This is a little different so please try to join us. Mass will begin at
8:00a.m.
KRIS KRINGLE KARNIVAL
You
are invited to the Kris Kringle Karnival at St. Agnes Parish, Bloomsdale on Saturday,
December 4th. We will begin at
10:00a.m. Games, Pictures with Santa,Bingo
Auction plus Food and Fun.
Next
weekend, the Giving Tree will be in place in front of Church to help us
prepare for Christmas with a generous heart. Please
select an ornament, purchase the gift described, wrap it in Christmas paper and place it
under the tree with the proper ornament attached. All
gifts need to be under the tree by December 17, 2004. The gifts will be distributed on
Saturday, December 18th. This year
we are experiencing a greater number of requests from the poor of our area. We need everyones help. Your anonymous gift will bring joy to someone this
Christmas.
