Faith For the Future
The Archdiocese of St. Louis is steeped in tradition and
Kenrick-Glennon Seminary is a significant part of that. Our priests and seminarians are
such a blessing to us. Think of what they have given and the many different ways they
serve others the sick or elderly, through baptism and first communion, marriages
and death. They are there during some of the most significant times of our life. Through
this campaign, we will help address some of the most urgent needs facing an aging building
where these men live and seek formation.
We are privileged to welcome Kent Pollman, a first year
pre-theology seminarian at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary, who will speak to us this weekend.
Safe Environment Program
Char Gestring, our Child Safety Coordinator, attended a workshop
on October 29th at the Cardinal Rigali Center. An overview of the more rigorous on-site
audits which will be conducted next year was discussed. We are in compliance 100% and Char
Gestring is to be commended for her continued thoroughness, professionalism, and support
of the Safe Environment Program, which protects Gods children in our Parish.
Veterans Day
Please remember to pray for our young people serving in the Armed
Forces today, and the many veterans of the past who have given so much of themselves
including their lives so that we may enjoy our freedom.
Flu Season
The flu season is upon us once again. One of the options in the
liturgy is to hold hands during the recitation of the Lords Prayer and to reach out
to one another at the Sign of Peace. We may want to reconsider that human contact for a
while. It is your option. May we have a healthy winter.
Chicken Dumpling Dinner
St. Stephen in Richwoods will host a Chicken and Dumpling or Ham
Dinner on November 22, 2009. Father Liss invites us to enjoy the games and shop the
religious goods, jewelry, and Christmas booths. Bardenheiers Winery will provide a
free wine and cheese tasting for those attending dinner.
