SHARE IN THE CARE

PLEASE GIVE

Today we will have a second collection. Please share in the care of our elderly religious by   giving generously to the collection for the Retirement Fund for Religious.  The escalating costs of health care have driven the cost of skilled care and assisted living for frail, elderly religious in the United States beyond $1.3 million dollars a day!  Your gift helps relieve a genuine crisis in many religious institutes.  As always your help is greatly appreciated.

OFFICE OF LAITY
AND FAMILY LIFE

SPOUSES, LET’S HAVE A CLEAN FIGHT!

All couples fight and that’s okay, but the real question is,”Do we fight fairly?”  Join us to discuss fighting styles, conflict resolution, and communication techniques to manage fighting without the hurt feelings.  The Marriage Speaker Series is Friday, November 12, 2004 from 7 to 9p.m. at the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury.  The event is free, but donations are welcome.  Please call 314-792-7176 to register.

Starting this week-end you will have the opportunity to purchase Christmas Cards at the Religious Articles Booth.  These cards offer a brief history and a picture of the interior of St. Joseph.  The price is $10.00 a box.

MATTHEW 5-7: HOW TO BE HAPPY

WEEK 3 – BE LIKE YOUR FATHER

In the third week of our Scripture study series, Jesus urges us to embrace God’s vision of right living and social justice and to put our minds and hearts to the task of pursuing this vision.  He bases his call to universal love on the example of the Father.  Jesus does not promise us that love will make our enemies into friends.  We do not love others so that they will love us in return.  We love others because we have a duty to imitate our Father in heaven.  Jesus tells us to be perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect..
