Workers for Oct. 30 Team #1

This Thursday, November 1, is the Feast of All Saints. The New Testament uses the word "saint" for anyone who has been baptized. Presumably, if we realized the implications of our baptism, we would strive for holiness of life. Through Baptism, we became children of God, heirs of heaven, temples of God’s Spirit. If we persevere in God’s grace, then we shall enter his glory. Our calling from God is to live as saints on earth so that we may be saints in heaven.

Friday, November 2, is All Souls Day. While attendance at Mass is not obligatory, it has always been regarded as a very special time to hear Mass and pray for friends and loved ones that are deceased. Mass is at 8:00a.m. It is also a time to renew your departed family and friends in the Purgatorial Society. An envelope is in your packet. Please list the names of those you would like remembered.

CEMETERY FUND

This month included in your envelope packet you will find an envelope marked "CEMETERY FUND". This is the only time that we collect for the maintenance of our cemetery. The grounds need to be mowed and maintained six months out of the year. Your help is greatly appreciated.

ST. ANNE CHURCH,
FRENCH VILLAGE, MO.

REMEMBER the HOG SHOOT today. You do not have to shoot yourself to be a winner. Come join us for GOOD FOOD, GOOD FRIENDS and GOOD FUN.

The picnic is only a few months away and June 2nd. will slip up on us before we know it. HANDMADE QUILTS are again needed for the bingo. The sign up sheets are in the back of Church. If you have any questions please call Carole Seyforth at 358-0552.

St. Anne Church belongs to the entire parish. This is why it is important for everyone to do their part in keeping the Church clean. The 2002 schedule for cleaning is in the back of church. Please choose your month to clean God’’ house.

EUCHARISTIC ADORATION

This Friday, November 2nd, will be our First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament immediately following morning Mass and ending with Benediction at 5:00p.m.Our goal is to have someone present in church at the beginning of each hour. In previous months we have not met that goal. I am going to ask that each of you call one person and invite them to be at church at the beginning of one of the hours during the day.

Let’s make this the most prayful Adoration yet.

Father John
