Stewardship

One of our goals as a parish family is to spread
the stewardship message to our youth. We are encouraging our St. Joseph School and our P.S.R. students to share their time, talent and treasure by participating in the Children’s Offertory Program. There is a special place on each envelope for them to record their good deeds and gifts to God.

RCIA Classes

RCIA classes will begin on the second Wednesday in October (October 13th). If you are interested in joining this class to refresh your knowledge of the Catholic Faith and enjoy good fellowship, or you know someone who would like to become a Catholic, please contact Mrs. Jenny Akins at 358-5947 or you may also contact the Rectory.

W O W BINGO NEWS!!!

St. Joseph Parish Bingo has donated a check in the amount of $12,000.00 to the Parish for St. Joseph School this quarter.

Thank you to everyone who works and those who support the Parish Bingo. You make this generous donation to our school possible. Invite your family and friends to join us on Thursday evenings.

ST. ANNE CHURCH
FRENCH VILLAGE, MO.

Appreciation Bonfire

You are invited to come and enjoy fellowship with your Church family at the St. Anne Appreciation Bonfire on Friday, October 29, 2010, at 7:00 p.m.

Bring your own food – hot dogs, chili, s’mores, drinks, and chairs. We hope to see you there!

Stewardship Awareness

"Has none but this foreigner returned to give thanks to God?" LUKE 17:18

Jesus seems sad and disappointed in the nine lepers who did not return to thank Him. Do we regularly return to thank God? Or do we run off to our busy lives, taking for granted all the wonderful blessings that God gives to us every day?

Please pick up your Personal Intention Cards for Stewardship. They are in alphabetical order on a table in the back of Church.

Knights of Columbus

The Knights invite you to come and enjoy their delicious Fish Fry on Friday, October 15, 2010, between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. The Knights of Columbus Hall is located at 7897 Berry Road.
Adults: $7.50; Children: $3.50.

Daughters of Isabella

Reminder: Our next meeting will be held on Monday, October 11, 2010, at 6:30 p.m. Please start to save clothing and household items for our Rummage Sale, which will be held on Saturday, November 6th.

Scrapbooking Workshop

The monthly Scrapbooking Workshop will be held this Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Church Hall. At each workshop there are tools to use, free gifts for attending, a small project to "Make & Take", products to purchase, and the advice of a veteran scrapbooker.

St. Joseph Gift Shop

The Gift Shop is open before and after the 10:00 a.m. Mass every Sunday.

Our Lady of the Rosary

We invite you to make the month of October a time of special attention to the recitation of the Rosary, the great prayer of intercession to Mary."Among all the devotions approved by the Church none has been so favored by so many miracles as the devotion of the Most Holy Rosary"

(Pope Pius IX). Please join us and pray the Rosary on Thursday mornings after the 8:00 a.m. Mass or before the Saturday evening Mass.

Apartment for Rent

The upstairs apartment in the Old Rectory is available for rent at $400 per month (with a $400 security deposit). The unit includes 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, living room, large kitchen with washer/dryer/electric stove/refrigerator/dishwasher. Water, sewer, garbage pickup, and partial electric provided. MORE GOOD NEWS

If you attended the Festival, you probably saw some First State Bank employees wearing burgundy shirts walking the grounds selling raffle tickets. Thank you to Kevin Cook and his associates of the Bonne Terre facility. They sold $200 plus in raffle tickets. The prize provided by the bank – two tickets for the Rams – Redskins game plus a Sam Bradford jersey. The lucky winner was Danny Faulkner. What a game he did see. Good things just keep coming via our Festival.

October is Breast
Cancer Awareness Month

Please encourage the women in your life to get mammograms on a regular basis. Visit the National Breast Cancer or the Susan G. Komen website for information about early detection and screening.
