One of the school’s fund-raisers is an historical 2005 calendar of Bonne Terre, Missouri.   Its theme is the Bonne Terre of yesteryears and the miners who were its heart and spirit.  Calendars will be on sale at all Masses the weekend of October 16 and 17th.  Donations received from the sale of the calendar will be used for the operation of the school.

Just a quick reminder: The regular monthly meeting

of the Daughters of Isabella will be held on Monday, October 11, 2004 at 7:00p.m.  Rosary at 6:45 p.m.

The Daughters of Isabella will have their Corporate

Communion on Friday, October 15, 2004 at the regular 8:00a.m. Mass.  The Rosary will follow the Mass and then we will go out to breakfast.   Bring a friend.

CORRECTION:

 The Stewardship Telephone Committee will be making calls to the people who have not returned their intentions cards.  Calls will be made from October 12-15th.  Thank you for giving of time and talent.

Many thanks to all those who have participated in our parish stewardship effort.  So far we have received 78, Intention Cards and I am hopeful that all of you have forgotten will return your cards this week.  We are recording your pledges in the parish office and in the coming weeks those who have expressed interest in a parish organization or activity should be hearing from a representative of that group.  Again, I thank you for all you do for our parish.

The Ham & Turkey shoot was a real success thanks to all that gave so generously of their time and talent.  It was nice to see the people who just stopped by to say Hi and share a bowl of chili.   

A deposit of $4,606.80 was made.  As soon as all the bills have been received a complete report will be available. 

Our annual HOG SHOOT is coming up on Sunday, October 31, 2004.  Come spend a pleasant afternoon with us and enjoy some homemade chili, along with your choice of hamburgers, hot dogs, and delicious desserts made in the kitchens of our great ladies. 

Don’t forget our first BONFIRE on Saturday, October 23rd.  Bring your hot dogs, chairs and anything else you can think of and lets all have a good time! 

Heavenly Dusters are again needed in 2005 to help clean the Church. The sign up sheet is in the back of Church. please Help! 

MATTHEW 5-7:
HOW TO BE HAPPY
BEGINS THIS WEEK 

We invite all the adults and young adults of our parish to take part in MATTHEW 5-7: How to Be Happy and take advantage of this opportunity to learn and to grow in faith.  This six-week program on the teachings Jesus gave us in the Sermon on the Mount

The RCIA Program will begin this Wednesday, October 13th at 7:00p.m.  The classes will be each and every Wednesday evening through Holy Saturday.  This “Journey Through Faith” is for everyone who would like to update their Catholic faith or join our parish community.  If you would like to be included in this program, please call the rectory at 358-2112. 

TOTA PULCHRA 

A display of the history of the devotion to the Immaculate Conception has been created at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows in Belleville, Illinois.  The exhibition, Tota Pulchra, depicts the sublime beauty of Mary, the person chosen to give birth to the Redeemer.  It portrays images of Mary Immaculate dating back as early as the 1600s and  displays a variety of inspirational images of the Immaculate Conception and her role in salvation.The exhibition, is open from 10A.M. to 6P.M. each day through November 1, 2004. Admission is FREE.
