WE BELIEVE IN GOD THE FATHER SEASON ONE BEGINS IN TWO WEEKS!

WE BELIEVE IN GOD is the name of the first season in a six-week adult religious education and faith formation program on the teachings of our faith that we profess every Sunday when we pray the Nicene Creed at Sunday Mass. This series is being offered to adults and young adults in parishes throughout our Archdiocese.

Each season of WE BELIEVE IN GOD THE FATHER uses a small-group format and faith sharing process as a way to invite participants to learn about and reflect on the teachings of our faith. I invite all the adults and young adults of our parish to take part in this program. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to grow in faith and discipleship. You might want to invite friends and neighbors to join you.

This six-week program will be offered at various times and in various locations in our parish. You can join a group that will meet here at church or a group that will meet in the home of a parishioner.

Stop and think about this program and decide which group will be most convenient for you and your family.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Father John.

FRENCH VILLAGE, MO.

It is time to being our quilt "Countdown" for the next year picnic. Our "Quilting Bees" have already started but one again we are asking for you help. We need completed donated quilts, blocks that are embroidered, quilt pieces set together, and someone to bind them.

A sign up sheet is in the back of church. Please lend us a hand and volunteer. Your help will be greatly appreciated. If you have any questions, call Carole Seyfarth at 358-0684.

The people of St. Anne would like to thank Ruth Basler for the many years that she has decorated our Church. Ruth has decided to step back a little and the decorations will now be handles by Tracy Lober. We appreciate both of you ladies.

COME ONE, COME ALL! Help is needed on Saturday, October 5 starting at 8:00a.m. to help set up for the upcoming Ham & Turkey Shoot and the Hog Shoot.

Desserts will be needed and for your convenience the new kitchen will be open so you may drop them off before mass.

The Country Store will be open for both events. Anyone that has items to donate may put them in the back of church or drop them by the booth. Baked items or canned jellies always make good sellers.

SANCTUARY BANNER

Do you recognize the symbols on the gold banner in our sanctuary? The theme is Jesus Chris, the Savior of the world.

Jesus is symbolized by the cross rising out of the world, which represents all of us. The two fish show the dual person of Jesus, as God and man. He sent the Holy Spirit (the dove and the flame) to give us strength and to guide us. The waves that are under the earth and the wheat and grapes on either side of the cross, represent the sacraments of Baptism and the Eucharist.

The Banner helps us to think about how much God has given to us, and how much He must love us.
