School News
A special thanks to all the grandparents who attended our
"Grandparents Day" celebration. They attended Mass with the students and
enjoyed breakfast by H&S under the pavilion after Mass. Craft projects were created
and weall appreciated and applauded the dance finale.It was a good time for everyone. The
4th, 5th, and 6th graders attended the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball Game for Key Players of
St. Patricks Center on Monday, September 14th and enjoyed the big win.

Ham and Turkey Shoot
St. Anne Parish will hold their annual Ham and Turkey Shoot on
Sunday, October 4, 2009. The fun begins at 11:00 a.m. The cash raffle features a 1st prize
of $300, a 2nd prize of $200, and a 3rd prize of $100. The drawing will be held at the Hog
Shoot on Sunday, October 25th. Come and win a ham or turkey with a spin of the wheel and
enjoy ice-cold soda, hamburgers and hot dogs.
Walk for Life Walk-a-thon
The Parkland Pregnancy Resource Center will be sponsoring its
fourth annual "Walk for Life
Walk-a-thon" to raise money for their ministry which provides care, support and
resources related to pregnancy for individuals and their families by promoting the
sanctity of human life. Volunteers are needed to walk on Saturday, October 17th. Brochures
will be available in the back of Church. If you cannot walk but would like to be a sponsor
and make a donation, please call Paulette DeGonia at 358-4041. This is an opportunity
right here in our area to promote pro-life efforts. Thank you.
St. James Fall Festival
St. James Church (Potosi, MO) will hold its annual Fall Festival
this Sunday. There will be delicious Fried Chicken and Roast Beef served buffet style in
the air-conditioned Parish Hall from 11:00 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. The Festival will feature a
Country Store, Bingo, Raffles, Poker Run, Horseshoe Tournament and games for the children.
"Canyon" and "Grassy Holler Band" will provide live music.
Crop Till You Drop
The St. Pius X High School Anniversary Committee is hosting a fall
scrapbooking day on Saturday, October 17 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the cafeteria. The
cost will be $25.00 per person, which includes a hot lunch, snacks and dessert. To reserve

is October 9, 2009.

"Thank You" for a job well done. I believe
the weather worked in our favor or maybe its just the old saying "If you do it,
they will come". I will not begin to thank people individually in the bulletin, but
each of you know in your heart the sacrifice you made for this wonderful day. The
financials will be forthcoming after all the bills are paid. The kids will benefit from
your generosity.

SEMINARY COLLECTION
Our team for the Seminary Campaign met this Thursday with the
Archbishop. The effort is to get the building up to code and it has no visible means of
support except for the generosity of the people of the Archdiocese. Each parish has a goal
to meet for this campaign and you will be hearing more about this effort in the near
future. Please pray for the success of this program. Once again your generosity will make
this a success for the people of God in St. Louis.
Dinners and Picnics
St. Joseph Parish on Zell Road in Ste. Genevieve, MO. will have a Chicken
& Ham Dinner with Liver Dumplings and all the trimmings today, September 27th. In
addition to games, there will be live music, a classic antique car and tractor show with a
machinery and engine exhibit.
The Annual Fall Picnic at Sacred Heart Parish in Festus-Crystal
City will be held this afternoon, September 27th. Fried chicken and kettle beef dinners
will be served buffet style. There will be game booths for adults and children, Bingo,
Crafts and a Silent Auction. Fredbird from the St. Louis Cardinals will be there from 1:00
p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
