YOUR HELP IS GREATLY NEEDED

A single parent with a child in our school is not able to make her tuition payments.  The policy is that if anyone is 2 weeks behind in tuition payments their child will not be able to enter school on Monday until tuition payments are paid current .  I don’t want to be put in the position of depriving this child of a catholic education because of a policy I have set. In fairness to all other parents, I have to stick to my grounds.   However, if there is someone in the parish, through the goodness of their heart that would like to help this parent, please contact the rectory by Tuesday, September 26.  Please keep this young child and our school in your prayers.

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father John

St. Joseph Home and School is holding a Quilt Raffle.  The drawing will be November 24, 2004.  Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.  The Quilt is handmade and donated by St. Joseph School. If anyone is interested in purchasing tickets or would like to help sell tickets please contact Darlene Dilbeck at 573-358-2248.  All proceeds will go to St. Joseph School.

Please save all your computer and printer cartridges and bring them in a bag and place them in the back of church.  The students will pick them up each Monday after their Mass.  Thank you for your help.

STEWARDSHIP

“My child, remember that you received what was good during your lifetime…”
Luke 16:25

We have all received so many good things from God.  Yet, modern media likes to convince us that we do not yet have enough.  Commercial goods and services are sold this way.  Today, we are challenged to realize how rich we really are.   Would God view us as the rich man or as Lazarus?  If we are rich by God’s standards, how generously do we share our gifts with others?

On the weekend of October 2nd and 3rd. there will be a special collection to support the training of deacons for service to our parishes and our community.  Please use the special envelope found in your parish envelope packet.  The members of the Diaconate Community thank you for your generous support.
