WE BELIEVE

NEW FAITH FORMATION SERIES FOR ADULTS BEGINS IN OCTOBER!

WE BELIEVE is the name of a religious education series for adults who want to deepen their faith through reflecting on the teachings of the Nicene Creed and discovering ways to apply these teachings to daily life. There are four seasons in the WE BELIEVE series. Each season consist of six sessions. Each weekly session combines Church teachings, reflections, faith sharing, prayer, and suggestions for ways to live faith in daily life.

WE BELIEVE IN GOD THE FATHER is the name of the first of the four seasons in the WE BELIEVE… series. This first season, to be offered this fall, will focus on Catholic teaching on the Trinity, God the Father, creation, the created world both seen and unseen, the dignity of men and women created in the image of God, and our response in faith to the Creator.

This resource will be an excellent tool for adult Catholics of all ages: parents, teachers, and catechists: inquirers, candidates, and catechumens in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA); members of small church communities; and all the adults of our parish who are searching for ways to grow in faith.

Each session in the WE BELIEVE… series uses a small group format and invites participants to grow in their faith and in their understanding of what the Church teaches through a process of reflection and faith sharing. It is not necessary to have participated in previous adult religious education programs offered by our parish to take part in this series. I would like to encourage all the adults and young adults of our parish to take part in this special opportunity.

The WE BELIEVE… series will be offered at a variety of times and in a variety of locations in our parish. You can choose to join a group that will meet at church or a group that will meet in the home of a parishioner. We hope you can join us. You will be able to choose the day, the time, and the location most convenient for you.

I would also like to take this opportunity to let you know that I will be away from the parish this coming week. All of the priests of the Archdiocese have been called by Archbishop Justin Rigali to a Convocation. A Convocation is a gathering of priests that is held every four years. The Archbishop will lead all of the priests in prayer and scripture study.

Deacon Ron will be here in my absence.

Respectfully yours in Christ,

Father John
