What a Gift!!!

The family of Herb Schwarz has given to the parish a Bar-B-Que pit made by Herb himself. This pit is big enough to handle a cook-out or fund raiser. Stewardship
Awareness Sunday

Sunday, September 16 is Stewardship Awareness Sunday. Archbishop Raymond Burke has asked parishes across the Archdiocese of St. Louis to take some time this weekend to:

  • Express gratitude to all those who have given so generously.

  • Reflect on all the many blessings that God ha poured out upon us personally and as a parish family.

  • Consider the ways in which we can and do return a portion of our blessings to God, sharing them with our parish family and the universal church.

The theme for this year’s celebration of stewardship is "Everything I have is yours."

We hear the Father say those words to us in today’s Gospel. Certainly, the eternal kingdom which God offers to each of us is much more valuable than the material goods that lure us in this world.

We are also challenged to reply to Our Lord, "Everything I have is yours." By recognizing that all we have is a gift from God w4e can more easily hold our gifts in a open hand and share them generously where they are needed. At St. Joseph/St. Anne we sincerely that all those who have responded to God’s abundant generosity by sharing their time, talent and treasure with our parish. It is only through the faithful stewardship of so many of our parishioners that we are able to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community.

In observance of Stewardship Awareness Sunday

We will have Jeff Pratte speak about stewardship and what it means to him and his family.

"Everything I have is yours." Luke 15:32

With the words, "Everything I have is yours", Our Heavenly Father reminds us that He offers us eternal joy in His kingdom. Yet, like the Prodigal Son we are often lured away by the materialism of our society. On this Stewardship Sunday it is good to remember that everything we do have here o earth is a gift from God. Try to take time this week to determine if you are using your time, talent and treasure in ways that are pleasing to God. Or are you squandering these precious gifts away on things that have no eternal value?

St. Joseph School News

The school has recently been the recipient of many gifts.

The Daughters of Isabella purchased 4 new printers for the classroom computers and a new soft ware package upgrade necessary to install the printers.

The Ladies Sodality donated a new Madonna for the school children. She is a lovely antique (approx. 55 years old) and will greet you upon arrival at the front entrance. The students also enjoyed ice cream and cake courtesy of this group of ladies.

Betty Marler and Alice Bell, the Mineral Area Geology and Mineral Society presented the school with rock and mineral samples, a testing kit and numerous resource books to help the students learn about rocks and minerals of Missouri.

A member of our parish, Margie Candelaria, has joined our staff. All students in Pre-school through Sixth Grade will have Spanish class. Gracias! Senorita Margie.

We are fortunate to receive all of these generous gifts. The students will remember these groups at our morning prayer service for their acts of kindness and generosity.
