Donut Sundays

St. Anne will have their first Donut Sunday on September 6th after the 8:30 a.m. Mass. The first Donut Sunday for St. Joseph is set for October 4th after the 7:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. Masses. We invite you to come and enjoy fellowship along with the coffee, donuts and orange juice.

Many helping hands are needed to pick up the donuts, serve and clean up. We would like to thank our loyal volunteers, Char Gestring, Rick Bender, Beverly Pinson, Diana Schwartz, Bob & Barb Krull and the St. Anne volunteers too num-erous to mention for their gracious hospitality on Donut Sundays. If you would like to volunteer for a Sunday or make a donation, please call Char Gestring. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Good News!

On August 18th, Father Joe Welschmeyer, pastor of St. James Parish in Potosi, received good news from his oncologist. Father Joe’s cancer is in remission following his recent surgeries. Father Joe thanks our St. Joseph parishioners who joined in prayers for his well being. After receiving his joyful news, Father Joe came straight to St. Joseph Church to make an act of thanksgiving to Almighty God and St. Joseph, his patron saint.

Benefit Golf Tournament

Our preliminary report indicates that after expenses our golf tournament realized a profit of $8,255.00.

Father John, the staff and students of St. Joseph School extend a big thank you to the golf teams, our sponsors and all of you who have made this year’s tournament such an outstanding success.

A special thank you also to Dude Pratte and Butch Miles for all of their time and hard work that they have invested in this fundraiser.

Festival 2009
September 20, 2009

Help needed! We will need two desserts from each parish family for the Festival - pies, cakes, cookies, cupcakes, brownies, etc. Sugar free desserts should be marked. Desserts can be brought in Saturday evening or Sunday morning and taken to the Church Hall downstairs. The sharing of your favorite desserts will be appreciated by our dinner guests.

There will be a second collection today after Communion for Festival food. Please use the Festival envelope provided in your packet or pick up a butterfly envelope and mark it "FESTIVAL". Thank you for your generosity.

We Need You!

Saturday, September 19, 2009
Sunday, September 20, 2009
Monday, September 21, 2009

Forms are available in the pews this weekend, which list the volunteer Committee Chairperson’s names and their activities. Please take a moment and look over the jobs needed to make our once a year, Annual Festival successful.

Saturday volunteers are very important for setting up and kitchen help to peel potatoes, prepare cole slaw and other dinner food preparation. Every booth and dinner helper is important and greatly appreciated.

Monday volunteers are needed to dismantle booths, tents and clean up. Please complete the form if you can help. Free lunch is provided on both Saturday and Monday for all volunteer workers.

Again, please fill in your name and phone number where we can reach you, along with the job number you would like to work. Volunteers are asked to work 2-hour shifts - write in the hours you are available. The Committee Chairperson will call you to confirm your shift time.

Please remember to tell you family and friends to spread the word about our festival. We guarantee you will have a fun time while supporting our parish and Christian community on September 20, 2009.
