The Archdiocesan Choirs of St. Louis will hold their annual audition on Thursday, September 5, 2002. The three choirs are the Adult Choir (grade 9-adults), Children’s Choir (grades 4-8) and Handbell Choir (adults). These groups are the principal choirs for all Archdiocesan Liturgies and Celebrations at the Cathedral and were the choirs for the Papal Visit and the Eucharistic Congress. The choirs bring together nearly 250 singers from more than 80 parishes in the Archdiocease. This coming year promises to be exciting. As the Children’s Choir will perform in New York City and the Archdiocesan Choir prepares for a major concert in January with Brass and a trip to Italy and Austria in June, 2003. For complete information and a brochure, call the Archdiocesan Office for Music Ministry at (314) 533-7662.

Dear Parishioners:

On Wednesday, September 11th in an attempt to remember the tragic events of that day, the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed from 8:00a.m. til 8:00p.m. at St. Anne and St. Joseph.

Special services will not be held for the day. However, this will be an opportunity to come to Church and pray, by yourself or with your family.

I know that you can pray at home or in your car, but there is something special about our Parish Church and if this will help you please avail yourself of the opportunity.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Father John

In our daily prayers let us remember our sick friends and relatives: Tommie Nienhaus, Norman Culton, Blackie Valleck, Bob Rupp and Bob Franz. On this Labor Day weekend let us pray for all of the workers in our Country. Let us not forget our Armed Forces. May God keep them and our Country safe and under His protection.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Agnes Vargo, life long member of St. Joseph Parish. May her soul and all the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

IN OBSERVANCE OF LABOR DAY WEEKEND, THE OFFICE WILL BE CLOSED ON MONDAY. NORMAL OFFICE HOURS WILL RESUME ON TUESDAY MORNING AT 8:30 .AM

Because of the holiday, the next Parish Council Meeting will be held on Monday, September 9th at 7:00p.m.

St. Joseph Annual Golf Tournament which was held last Friday, August 23, was another big success thanks to the beautiful weather and the hard work of Dude and Monkey Pratte, Chairman of the Golf Tournament and their committee members.

A total of $16,295.75 was deposited on Monday, August 26, with some revenues and expenses still out.

St. Joseph needs this kind of continued support. All proceeds will go to the support of our school.
